i have a 142 with a dial a watt.
all the way up it dead keys 10 with no swing, all the way down it keys 2 swings to 6. what is the problem here?
on SSB it kicks butt and swings well over 20.

Even present day this thing kicks butt! everyone i talk to cant believe how awesome these things sound. There are a few guys in my area that have
2000's and new rci bases, 2995's etc. and this thing sounds BETTER!
Right out of the box new it does 8 swinging to 15. all you have to do is cut...

mine has r104 cut and i think it is tr32 removed. i never liked the sound of this radio. it is so bassy it sounds like crap. how can i get more than 8-10 watts on am???
what transistors can be removed in the audio circuit?

the area i am putting the antenna in requires me to use a stick antenna.
(not enuff room for an astro plane) so even at a low height, the imax would be better? my initial thought was that because it will be so low, a higher radiation angle would get my signal up into the air better??? i...
what will be my best bet for a base antenna that will only be 10 feet off the ground? antron 99 or imax 2000? i was thinking maybe the antron due to the higher radiation angle???
