FT2000D

I am 65 and studying for my Tech Test. I purchased a FT2000D and wanted to listen some so I hooked it up last night to a CB antenna. Problem is that the needle on the meter pegs and there is absolutely no sound at all. I reset all memories to Factory Default Settings, but do not know enough...
