But that is purely situational and is not an actual issue with Megawatt supplies. I personally have never needed a breakout board on any of my supplies and set my voltage at what is best for the radio and never have to touch it again.
I have had two Megawatt in use for a few years now. One for the garage radio and one for the shack radio. I have had absolutely zero issues with them and at their price point I baught two more to have as backups.
I am currently using a MAX2000. I made some changes to it though (see pic). It's been working great. Yes, it's a simple fix and it does work but the fact still remains that the manufacturer should be heald accountable.
These are nowhere near the quality they used to be. Infact all Astatic stuff has really gown down hill in recent years. Someone bought them out. Road Pro or Workman or something.
Surprisingly they have only misbehaved twice in the in the weeks they've been installed. BUT the amp is in the adjacent room. I've been pretty happy with them. It's really nice to dim the lights way down and start playing 80s porn music softly in the background while talking skip. :)
