the 200p I have is choppy on the 980. Tried it on two different 980's that were well within drive limits. Also used it on a galaxy and was also choppy on sideband. after several people told me that the 200 was not a good amp for sideband I went with the kl503 and have not had anything but good...
I've got a kl200 and yes it is choppy on sidband. boxed mine up and got a 503 and it sounds great on sideband. the 203 from people I've spoke with say it does very well on sideband. Stay away from the 200 if you're a sidebander.
People think drilling a hole will decrease the value of the vehicle when and if they trade it in. I never put any stock in that myself because when you trade in your car/truck they are gonna give you what they want hole or not. I've always hard mounted my antennas they just look better to me...
I've only talked to Ireland one time but used to talk to the UK all the time until about a month or so ago. Haven't heard the UK since dx has shifted directions. There was a station 275 out of the UK I was able to make contact with all the time. The west coast states and the UK was pretty much a...
You're right got off topic a bit... the radio is easy to get through the UK dealers. it looks like at least one place seems to get stuck in customs a lot. Just from reading post you can pretty much tell which one. others don't seem to have problems with customs.
It was Bob. I wrote it down. Nice gentleman to chat with. I used to talk to a gentleman called dirty old man a lot just above 405. Haven't heard him in a while. I don't recall where he's from but I enjoy talking to him also.
Yep, been getting Boston New York and New Jersey a lot in the past week or so. I was listening to some New Jersey stations one night and it sounded like they were just right down the road. No other skip but those stations. I'm used to west coast DX and UK... that's the Norm for me and i Wish it...
I had bought amps from H&Y but never an antenna. My amps were always boxed and packaged good and shipped fed ex. Was hoping they were shipping antennas in tube mailers. Guess not. I guess it's pick your poison in deciding between DNJ and H&Y after the story you just told. I'd pay extra to get...
Guess they never heard of tube mailers at DNJ. Wonder how H&Y ships their antennas. They are closer to me anyway. Kind of bad when your mail carrier hands you your antenna and it looks like its got a 10 pound bass hanging off the end of it :pop:
I love the radio itself but the sideband receive isn't as good as the 980. The white noise seems to be more of electrical pops and spikes rather than a solid consistent white noise. Even with the motor not running. Kind of like lightning strikes off in the distance kind of static. Thought it...
I ordered my sirio 5000 from dnj. It looked like a banana when I received it. It was wrapped in three different pieces of cardboard and a roll of tape. I was kind of mad when I first saw the box if that's what you want to call it. Very lucky it wasn't permanently bent. I've always had good...
