No, my 2000 GTL recap cost a bit more than I predicted it would so I must wait until next month to buy the 4000. No big deal as they're on Amazon for $140 shipped. I just didn't want to find a better setup after I paid for my 4000. The usual. :)
Has anyone ever seen a replacement mic element for a Turner JM+2/U mobile mic? My stock element has a big hole in it. The rest of the mic is in great shape and it would be a shame to toss it.
Thanks!
Has anyone located a modern QUAlITY transformer that puts out a few more amps than stock trans but will fit in the stock transformer space with the RF shield top on?
I hope I hope.
I was just swapping out the crappy RG58 coax on my Wilson 1000 mag mount with 8X when I thought I would test something. I measured the stock cable's length and did the math with the velocity factor. It matched. So, Wilson believes in the old coax length thing too. :)
Thanks guys. I needed that.
One last question. Should there be two open holes near TR24? They are just forward of 24's spot and are not marked with an ID. I suspect they are unused.
Howdy all. I was given a Cobra 148 that is missing a few parts, such as the famous TR--24 transistor. Can anyone give me a part number for a TR-24 so I can order a replacement?

"there is a plus/minus tolerance of 10% on both sides for the dummy load resistor." Alice M.
So there it is. My load is not broken or even out of plumb. It's JUST FINE.
Nope, I bought it used. It could have been run hot before. Crap, I needed a good reliable dummy load. Now I have a semi reliable dummy load, as long as I don't care about accurate SWR readings.
Yup it's a 264. I was hoping it was a series of resistors in the ceramic tube, then I could find the...
