i use good old soap and water... inside and out.
never had any type of failure or release of magic smoke.
just use common sense, i know it's a thing of the past in the digital age but it comes in handy :D
Could be anything from weather to surrounding objects.
I've seen changes in humidity change my vswr... not much but a little bit.
Have also seen vswr vary when the trees/limbs sway in the breeze.
Just like stated above "reflection".
You shouldn't see much more than a point or so difference, if...
The wiring powering the cigarette lighter plug is less than half the size of the 94HP wires and will NOT handle the 25 amp maximum that the radio can draw.
I have ran high power radios on the cigarette plug before but just for a short time on low power and mostly receive.
It is a bad idea.
Looks like Yaesu was ahead of its time... my 857 does that with no mod
plus it can change colors according to signal strength instead of just get brighter :D
i kind of feel like i'm preaching to the choir here.
you know the bulbs make the power supply fault, right?
have you tried these same bulbs on an automotive 12V battery?
if not, do so.
the problem that i see is that the protection circuit of the pyramid power supply will not allow...
use a spare 12V battery if you have one OR pop the hood on your car and "test" the lights there.
I doubt the astron would like the low impedance load either
All of those halogen bulbs are so close to being a dead short that most power supply protection circuits will treat them as such
^^ someone didn't read the entire OP lol
I'm inclined to agree with watergate, maybe the pyramid doesn't like the load it sees.
according to Ohm's law. 65W draws 4.6A @ 14V so that gives you 3Ω
Probably looks like a dead short to the 14A pyramid supply
Back in the day, there was a mounting bracket that allowed you to simply pull the radio out of the car without unhooking any wires or coax.
All connections from the radio were made to the slide out part then power and coax were connected to the mounted part.
That item is what allowed to to...
there are a lot of offerings for blade fuse holders as well as fuses up over 100A.
I've just never cared to use them.
I know it probably doesn't matter one bit but I like the whole waterproof design of the one above.
There's a lot of different stuff out there that will suit your needs, check...
Yes there are different amperage ratings, I'm not sure if you will find a 10A though.
I have seen 30A and up.
These aren't your normal sized glass fuses, these things are almost 1/2" diameter.
Oh, and just in case you like tiny little LEDs, I have seen two different types with LEDs.
One is lit...
I've had one of these in my silverado for over 10 years with an 80 amp fuse and have nothing negative to say about it.
I used an 18" piece of 4 gauge from the "jump start post" to the fuse holder mounted on the master fuse box beside the battery.
From there a 4 gauge runs through an...
Eh... I could have edited but I'll make a new post lol
