Pay $20 more for non refurbished ?

Another way to look at is the first owner of the refurbished unit took the gremlin hit. It "should" now be the best it can be. Totally checked out for operation. The new one has the same chance of being the next one to go to be refurbished as any other. If it is a factory refurbished, I...

    Anyone have their gallbladder out?

The first character of the serial number should be the letter 'U' https://downloads.cobra.com/CB/Models/29-SERIES/New%20Version/

    single final wattage

I just bought the meter they use. I bought a Workman dual meter 3P SWR / Power meter that was new in the packaging from an Amazon Dealer. This meter is soooo good that I can show you that my bone stock Cobra 29 NW Classic kicks out..... 40Watts! It went off the 10 watt scale and I had to...

What's your favorite 'vintage' CB rig?

My first base. A Regency Range Gain II All tube radio and the factory even built in an antenna marcher/tuner. Tubes has a naturally smoother sound because of how a tube works. Something a transistor can not accomplish with it on/off processing modes.
