That's essentially what I want to build with the four Yagis.
The relays K1 through K4 will be a little different in that they will have four terminals. It will require only two DowKey 402-320132 or similar. The Y cable length will essentially be the switch itself. I'll have to custom build...
Here's a picture of what I want to build.
Supplier of Quad Stacked Antenna from New Delhi,Delhi,India,ID: 1307032212
Each linear Yagi has a gain spec of 12.6dBd In CP I would expect 9.6dBd
For all four as pictured gain should be 15.6dBd when operating CP.
By changing phase to create a...
Thought question... Not meant to warp anyone worse than they already are.
I'm planning to use a crossed yagi antenna on 2-meters. Instead of one set of elements being for vertical and the other for horizontal I want to mount the antenna in an X configuration with each driven element at +/-...
I'll try to visit the flea market on Saturday morning. Kids may groan with having to come along though...
My daughter is graduating nursing and mother is a retired nurse. Hard to hide my ailments from them.
Good luck with your father in law. We all get a turn in that position.
I started modifying amplifiers with a batch of capacitors received in November. There were three amplifiers that did not produce full power. They were essentially put aside. Over twenty modules are out there now.
The next batch of capacitors were not as successful. With all new capacitors...
I've posted the capacitor values that were added to improve 50MHz operation to the lo/lo amplifier.
Larcan 1kW and 1.5kW amplifier modules
144MHz conversion troubles with a new batch of capacitors. It seems the 100pF caps need to be about 105pF for proper operation. Many supplied measure...
The guilt trip works. :)
That's a nice output circuit. I didn't know you the roller inductors yet! I too had big plans for an HF amplifier until getting into my new house. There just isn't room to go big with the BFLA in there. With a different rack maybe a SB220 could be added, but with...
Look into small coaxial cable. RG178 and RG316 both have 0.1 inch outer diameters and could be easily hidden. It could be easy to run it through the attic hatch or through a sliding window. Check the specs for power rating, both surprisingly high for HF operation.
Without that piece of coax being replaced the MRF151G would have made tiny crackles and died. I know the sound well now. Expensive oops sometimes and takes a bite out of my spare parts bin.
The soldering on the capacitors doesn't look as pretty when you take a macro picture and expand it on...
Of course coax length is critical.
If it's too short it won't reach.
Otherwise for a properly tuned antenna performance will be the same for similar length cables.
Evenings or weekends are often ok. I'm down with something nasty and keeping isolated from everyone for a few days. Otherwise give me a call and stop by.
I've wired many microphones and often the colors are irrelevant. Typically white is mic, red tx, black rx, and so on. In some cases white has been tx, red mic, and so on.
Figure out what function each wire is performing. With the mic in receive mode use an ohm meter to see what lines are...
Post a picture of your mounted attenuator. I have spare side rails if you'd like a set.
He's in an apartment complex and can't build a large antenna. Mr.Franklin remember...
4kW 2-meter amplifier
Someone asked if I could build a 4kW output amplifier for 2-meters. Not sure why, but Mr.Franklin speaks l loudly. Here is an initial suggested layout for the amplifiers. Four 1kW modules will operate in parallel. Four power supplies (3 shown) will mount in the two...
In his case I expect it was an impedance matching cable that happened to be 90 degrees long. Changing its length altered the required 90 degree electrical length needed to create the transformer.
It is quite common to change the length of phasing cables to alter antenna patterns.
