I use a Dipole for 11 meter. I have it in the rafters of my basement and it gets out pretty well. Around 5 miles. If it is mounted north and south, then your signal will go east west. I made mine from #12 wire. 468 divided by frequency, (27.205) in 11 meter.

Yep, these mics are fantastic. I use one for my base station. Louder than anything else I have used.

Also the 2547 and the 959 use the same exact board inside.

If you get the 949 then you will wish you got the 959 with the counter so I say GET THE 959 and be done with it.

I have the Galaxy DX959 with the freq counter. I like it because if you decide to do the channel mod, the freq counter follows right along and they have good modulation also.

I have 2 Mongoose radios. 1 works great and 1 does not transmit. If you key up the meter goes up a little and the to zero and zero watts during key up. Not sure what it is yet but still playing around with it.

I have a Mongoose 450 that has the channel mod done to it.. My question is this, how do I put it back to just 40 channels. Seems that the uppers and lowers are controlled by the dimmer control knob. Thanks in advance. Mongoose
