Galanary, google an Icom 746 Pro or Yeasu 991a. Look at pics of the back of those radios and you will see multiple antenna input locations. They put a lot inside those radios to be able to work like that.

Glad that is working out for you. The 240 amp alternator and heavy gage wire are probably the most important parts of the setup. Usually when this topic comes up most people want to add bat caps to their setup (85-120 amp alternator) so they can run a bigger amp.

You can control the output from the front of the radio. The RF power control is lower middle. You should be able to turn it down on ssb to almost nothing, or set it where ever you need it. Hate to see you butcher that radio up for no reason.

Glad you got it working. That said do not run a 2970 with any of those amplifiers. Way way too much radio.

Well said, this was mentioned in the first 14 posts. Hard to believe when the builder tested it with 50 watts drive it didn’t have issues right then before it was shipped. Never been a fan of 2x4 and 2x6 amplifiers.

That’s pretty common with cb amps. Palomar, Galaxy, Cobra, Boomer, Gray, Shooting Star, Magnum and so on. Same amps different names.
