    CB tool needed

    Yes it's the nut with ( 4 ) notches in it. I tried need nose plier but the are to thick to fit in the notches. I will grind down an old socket like you mentioned, good idea. Thanks.

    Thanks for the input guys. I sprayed the pot with good contact cleaner, no help. The radio is indoors so temperature is not the culprit. I do have a Freq counter with a BNC connector as well a digital multi meter, dummy load, good power supply, Good vswr / power meter. I will keep trying to...

    Realistic ssb radio what is the best one made?

    re: radio Shack ssb cb. The ones using the Uniden boards. TRC-453 & TRC-465 both Uniden pc-122 clones, also the TRC-451 but this ones a bigger chassis. All mobile am / ssb units. The base sister model was the TRC-850 same as Uniden Pro-810E Cheers.

    re: new Uniden cb's Just a quick note. I hope these AM & the 980 SSB model are modifiable. There is no point spending $150 - $200.00 on a cb that can't be modded for export use. Hopefully someone posts a mod on these new units. Bruce.
