SG7900 Hello, I put the Diamond antenna in question on my XYL's car..well sort of... built an extended feed mount for it that mounts to the tow-hitch location. The antenna does say it needs no tuning and probably does'nt. But me being who I am had to fine tune it...hi...There is...

I use a real China-Bristle 3" paint brush...Get all the dust off. then spray a tad bit of Pledge on my hand, work it into the brush, then go over it again. Keeps the rigs looking like new!

    Idiot on 14.3130 right now.

kb1tpx..I can only speak for myself when I say, I'm on your side 100%.. I certanly wasn't knocking you, but MOST of the guys who operate on .313 ---Most could not hold a civil conversation if it meant saving the World. If they're not in conflict, they are not happy (so they think) The...

    Idiot on 14.3130 right now.

People talk on 14.313? I thought that was the International "Tune-up Frequency":confused1:...hi... Really, all I ever hear is broadcasting on there, (not legal for amateur communications.) Just ask if the frequency is in use, then call your friends

    INSTALLING GROUND RODS INSIDE BASEMENTS

I won't argue theory here with anyone, but can tell you I used to believe in the "no-grounding thing". About 27 yrs ago , just a year before my first ham license I was a CB op. The local guys always used to say " take your coax off and put the end in a big jar" sounds silly does'nt it...

    10M wide open

Ratso, you are right about the CQ thing. Had a strange experiance in October of last year. The bands all seemed dead and I was bored, so just decided to call CQ on a completely quiet band, 15 meters. My second round of CQ brought me BD1BYV (China) down near the bottom of the band. Never...

    I Got My New MFJ-259b

The 269 does everything the 259B does from 1.8 - 170mhz. It also has a button that takes you to a UHF range (415 -470mhz). It does all the complex analysis stuff from 1.8 - 170. But when you switch to UHF (for instance the 70cm band) those features are defeated except the SWR function...

    I Got My New MFJ-259b

Complex impedance adds up on a Vector, not straight addition. (an A2 + B2 = C2 type thing) Hope that makes sense as I woke up with a terrable head-ache this morning..No more cigarettes for me...hi.. I've got the 269 here, and paid quite a bit for it..(It has UHF), but on UHF readings...

    cw help

Cool videos!! Something one realizes when sending QRQ with a staight key is, that (like the video shows) the key does have to be held down, either with a clamp or with your left hand. (I clamp my key with my pointer and middle finger over the heavy base, and thumb down around the edge of my...

    multiband base choices...

Really VanillaSky, there is no magic light...I was just kidding... It's up to you what you get, of those mentioned I think I would get one of the 756pro models. Super nice rig. One thing about the other all-in-one rigs though, make sure you have another vhf or uhf rig in the shack. Some...
