Anyone know of a good replacement mic for the above mentioned radio? I know the stock is 6 pin but I never use the channel buttons on the mic either. Are there adapters to go from 4 pin to a 6 pin?

If you want to be heard you honestly need to have it on your roof. If you're just looking to listen and maybe talk to people in the same traffic jam then the bed mount will be fine. I've got a thread about mounts and antennas. Look that up. It might help understand more about transmission...
