Anyone know of a good replacement mic for the above mentioned radio? I know the stock is 6 pin but I never use the channel buttons on the mic either. Are there adapters to go from 4 pin to a 6 pin?
This is temporary till the weather warms up and I can spend the time outside to install the Breedlove puck and the Larsen nmo antenna. I dont have a garage so I can't exactly tear apart my truck and take the required time to do it right.
Well I just finished testing the Larsen 3rd brake light mount with a Wilson 1000 mag mount. Installed the whip, tightened the screws on it. Fired up the radio and kicked on the swr calibration, 1.0 across the board. No trimming of the whip, no adjustments to anything. When I go out later I'll...
Nope.... weather has been to shitty to spend time tearing the truck apart. However just for shits and grins, im trying a third brake light mount my buddy took off his truck before he sold it. I'm waiting on a new whip for a Wilson 1000 to see how that works. If that fixes my issue I'll run that...
Funny as it is, I took a step back now that the light bar is mounted to the top of the rack. I temporally mounted the antenna off to the side on one of the bed rails and my swr went from 1.2 to 2.0 or 2.2 depending on how the whip was moving. I tried to adjust the length of the whip but i just...

I've been around Forums since my 20s. Started with my full size Bronco and processed to get worse when I bought my first superduty. I've seen the attacks and nastiness on the forums, it's not what I joined a forum for. I join a forum to have the ability to learn, share my knowledge and share...
I had originally started with a thread about adding a grounding strap to the current setup. And things ballooned from there. And I started a side conversation with slowmover asking questions and what not. Like your signature says this has been all about the research and to gain knowledge. 18...
Slowmover replied so that answered your question about recommendations.
The other parts to this equation is I have accessories that I have added and or on the wish list for the truck that have limited the options for antenna mounting options. I also have a 2019 ford superduty so no mag mounts...
So in my search for knowledge on antennas it has been brought up to try a setup using a NMO Puck from breedlove. I'm still unsure what they are there for. I can understand if they are used to prevent damage to the roof from a standard NMO connection.
It was suggested I use a puck and a Larsen...
