Maybe it's just me, but I don't see the point in making all this noise that's just going to be disruptive and annoying to someone who's actually trying to use their radio for it's intended purpose. Communication. Just my opinion...
Antenna set up 99% complete...here's some pics. I do have to make a few adjustments, but for now, it's working and very sturdy. It has already been through a few very strong wind storms with winds up to 60mph. The IMAX 2000 was a good choice in my opinion due to the high winds that our area...
Just realized how quiet the audio is on WR15's video...sorry, I think my finger was over the mike on the camera...oops...
These are the first ones I've ever done, so I'm sure I'll get better at recording them...
Lookin' forward to making more contacts with other forum members too...
The skip was rolling tonight. Heard some Idaho, Nebraska, Washington St., Hawaii, Oregon, Montana, and California.
Some contacts I made tonight...

38x50 Hammond United States/USA/US Wall Map and Mural - eBay (item 310217293589 end time May-30-10 23:02:34 PDT)
Just bought. I plan on using green and red pins to pinpoint contacts and others I've heard on the band.
Good price too, only $7.95 with free shipping.
Watched it over Southern California as well. Nice sight to see, extremely fast. Not sure which one came first, but the first one I saw was moving extremely fast heading N NW, I figured this to be the Atlantis. The second was, I'm assuming, the ISS, which started about 20 degrees above the W...
Just interested to see what channels everyone operates on...maybe we can attempt some contact(s) soon...
I've mostly been on 36, 38, & 39 LSB as these seem to be the most active SSB channels I have heard since I've had my radio setup.
So I am looking for a Frequency meter for my President Washington 40ch AM/SSB. Most of what I find on the internet say they are designed for the Galaxy radios, midlands, etc. I haven't found any meter for the Prez Washington.
So, today is the third day I've had the station up and running and my dad called me and told me skip was rolling in up there in NW Washington. We both went to 39 LSB and my very first CQ he heard me. He wasn't sure it was me, so I called CQ one more time for him and sure enough, he heard it...
Well, I got back from vacation and my IMAX 2000 was waiting for me when I got back. I got everything set up two days ago and just made my first SSB contact this morning. I had done a couple radio checks on AM stations to make sure I was getting out and did get positive responses. This morning...
YouTube - Catalina Island zipline
Just got back from a 4 day vacation on Catalina Island (about 26 miles off the coast from Long Beach, CA). Did the new zip line eco-tour and it was amazing! The first leg is kind of a tester for you so the guides can see how you did. The second leg is the...
This is what I figured. I just wanted to let them know in case they (one of their club members) talks on CB as well and thinks I'm trying to "impersonate" being a member of their club or whatever.
Plus, maybe if I end up wanting to get a ham license I'll already be in the good graces of...
