I have had a few of these cybernet chassis and would bet the problem lies in the VCO. When these go bad they exhibit those symptoms.

Switchkit, someone on another forum said it was a early 90s TNT AB1 box. he said he used to own one. Now to find some info.

switchkit it is ab1. it has active bias on transistors. look at those hybrid combiners. unique design Boomer hey? well the transistors have 1990 date codes on them.

The shiny silver spot is normal. Its the spot where they flash the geter to completely remove any air inside. I believe the ring contained the geter.
