Geez I miss the old days. Late 70's I was the only one in the area with an iron and multimeter. Constant stream of mike re-wires. It was like voodoo to the common folk.
Have you tried the freeze for a couple of hours, then plunge into really hot water. Do it a couple of times. I've done it to 'crack' the seal on power bricks.
Yes I get it. An incandescent worst will burn out. LED fixture has a lot more to fail with cheap components. But its advantages power saving wise are worth it. I'm more trusting of LED than CFL, I've seen some catastrophic failures in them, and here we use 240v, none of this lightweight 110v.
Yes the LED headlights on my new vehicle seem to light up the street signs at a distance, but I find it harder to see the blacktop roads , especially when it has been raining. As to house lighting, I go for the warm white, it just seems less harsh on my old eyes.
If you are thinking heat shrink make sure it is UV stabilised. I made the mistake of using clear on a dual band antenna that was rough, the heat shrink lasted a year or so before cracking and falling off.

Iv'e got the TRC 453. Similar to the 465. Small and light enough for Velcro to hold it on the console just about anywhere. been going strong for 30years.
Saying that, I am tempted to get a 980.
Yes, lots of Martini rifles around, they were issued to troops, prison guards and police way back. Contrary to what most people think, you can get just about anything down here, up to full auto, it's just the hoops you have to jump through multiply as you go up the ladder.
I got one of these a month ago, great little rifle , smooth as and not one miss feed in over 1000 rounds. Semi autos are a hassle to get here in Oz, so the levers are popular.
Mostly work related audio amps. Usually bought at a low dollar value and left running 7x24x365 (schools, users too lazy to switch off) but common problem of capacitor failure on power rails. I know they are built to a $$ level but cap ratings 1volt over rail voltage is inbuilt failure.....
Hey Tony, I'm in Sydney. eBay has a few old school radios pop up, they seem to go for serious $$$. Dunno where these buyers are using them but 11m is pretty dead most of the time. I'd love it to pick up, but the good ole days of the late 70's to mid 80's are a fond memory. Let me know where you...
Geez you oughta try Australia, we are expected to be submissive almost to the point of offering the intruder refreshments. And 90% of the population is scared of anything remotely resembling a firearm.
Kopcicle....geez, I Need to find my eyes from 30 years ago !
I wondered about another movement modified to fit... will see how much it will cost from Burkett. I am of Scottish heritage so a bit tight with my money.....
Thanks guys, I thought it would unobtanium, will try to order one when I am back at my PC and not this stupid tablet which keeps crashing.
I'd like to get the old Washington back to operational.
Nomad, the meter moves freely, just meters as O/c and no response when AA cell put across it. The...
