Ok I spent some time looking at the Sryker radios, I like them in a lot of ways but is it just me or are they a little high priced for what you get? I am leaning lately towards getting a magnum 257 and a Texas Star, it sucks to find room for the amp but I am wondering if this isn't the best option.

That N2 conversion looks good but I wonder how long it will stay together. As for the optima I was hoping to have more power than that. If I can't get a good all in one I guess I will have to just drive an amp. I wish someone would get it together and build a quality unit!

If the N2 has issues, I am ok with getting something else. Is there another radio that is just designed better? I plan on keeping it for years.

I toyed with the idea of doing an inverted V dipole on a vehicle with a single high support. And tied off to each bumper, but I figured the near field of the body of the vehicle would mess it up too bad to make it worth it. I can see the value of something like this on the new fiberglass trucks.

If it is too close wouldnt the high voltage point of the antenna start to saturate/effect the field created by the choke , which may in turn reduce its ability to stop the CMC. Or am I over thinking things or way off base?:confused1:
