Why is it that most tend to piss and moan about A, B or C bias? Reality is the components they are recieving the signal on are not near the quality it would take to discern the difference? I agree it's clearly notable on proper equipment but, listening through a $6.00 speaker you will never hear...
Has anyone done it or is it even possible? Could make a nice little radio for transfering between equipment.
Found my answer with a little more searching.
Rum Runner, The mic is very neat as is and something you should be proud of. The idea of blue to red on TX is that it would match the color characteristics of my Magnum S9, I may suffer in my next statement but, many on this forum as I see it are nothing more than educated idiots whom are...
Robb, I did indeed have the OEM ground plane kit included with the Imax when I failed at my attempt of isolation. I do not know if it was the GP kit or my method of isolation that caused the problem. I was excited to get it in the air and read a few threads and followed the recommended isolation...
 I may not know much about antennas and antenna theory but, I can state with much certainty that adding a shovel handle between the mast and antenna will not double it's performance. I certainly will not start building amps, no need for them anymore since the release of the new IMAX ASH...
:lol: Yeah it's only working at 50% and adding a shovel handle will double an antennas performance:ohmy: You're killen me smalls! Everyone might as well throw their current antenna and replace it with an Imax and shovel handle.
You and nav2010 should really start selling these in kit...
Your response is admirable while your reading comprehension leaves much to be desired. I tried the 5 turns on a 4.25" former with Tram double shield low loss RG-8/X just as close to the feed point as I could get it, made no difference! The reason I went larger with my LMR 400 is because 4.25 is...
Booty, are you being facetious or would you honestly rather have the Gain master over the PT-500? I actually do not think the difference between the three mentioned would be worth taking one down and putting two up, sadly I do not yet know enough about antennas to know if my thoughts are near...
If rfi was a problem and now it's gone, great I am happy it worked for them but, I have to think that would have more to do with winding a proper choke than isolating an antenna. I was just after better performance as rfi was never a problem for me. Maybe a good coax like the LMR is all thats...
I'm quite confident a mast wrapped with electrical tape and then isolated again with the addition of PCV pipe over said mast qualifies as properly. As for "some" seeing an improvement, I agree. some also feel better after placebo treatments:laugh: You stick with your shovel handle:blush: and I...
Well gentlemen, lets have it. I have been reading for two days on the merits of each antenna and have read countless "tests" of each, of all the antennas tested against the Imax not one included the GP kit on the Imax. I understand they are both 5/8 wave antennas but has anyone actually tested...
I do not know if you have tryed Site Disclaimer - Custom CB radios but everytime I call, James answers the phone to take my order, if I have a question about what I am ordering I simply ask to speak with Doug. Have not had a problem in over three years. Good luck! I also wish to speak with...
