    Hooked up the sirio p5000

This may sound like a dumb question but if the sirio has a scratch off authentication label and the label has been scratched off then how does one know if it is authentic?

    AnyTone AT-5888UV VHF/UHF Mobile Review

Question for you Mole What is the output @ 477mhz, does the sensitivity roll off at that frequency. I am interested as this radio would make a great mobile rig for Australia if it performs well on our UHF cb frequencies

Friends that just don't understand why you like radio so much.

Yes a lot of my friends don't get it, I have lost count of how many times I have herd "you can use a phone you know". While entertaining one night with a bunch of friends standing around the fire bucket with guts full of piss they decided that our place is now called the dish, named after the...

Using a small satellite dish as an 11 meter antenna

I know that this is an old thread but this is the first time I have read it, For interest sake... I have experimented using a Foxtel sat dish in the past set up as a reflector with a folded dipole for our uhf cb band (477mhz). It worked ok, nothing special but for limited space it did the...

Decided to go to battery need advice.

Hey 123 My opinion.... Leave the radio in line fuses in circuit, run the cable that you have purchased to the battery and add a inline Circuit breaker at the battery end of the cable rated at no greater then the current carrying capacity of the cable. Not sure what 12 guage cable is rated...

Decided to go to battery need advice.

Just some advice Try to get a DC circuit breaker, they are cheap on eBay and are able to be reset. I am a big fan of circuit breakers over fuses. Just my opinion

Decided to go to battery need advice.

Number one rule.... Protect the cable.... That is the electrician coming out of me there :-) Always make sure that the protection device never exceeds the current carrying capacity of the cable. Our wiring rules state that the fuse rating should be no greater than 80% of the current...

Relays for RF? Will a normal 12v automotive relay work? or something else?

Hey FX until I just googled hvt-400 I had no idea what it was but from a quick look it seems to be one of those multi tap all band majigas. I am interested to see how you can adopt the switching into this antenna without affecting SWR. I have a side project which is kind of along the same lines...

Relays for RF? Will a normal 12v automotive relay work? or something else?

I have used 12v 40a spdt automotive relays to repair the busted LP filter relays that had burnt out in my Ameritron ALS500. They work fine, cheap eBay from china. But forget about switching anything above HF with these things as they won't work (major loss)

FAq\Help on setting up a cb packet radio?

building a small power supply... question

Transformer-rectifier-10uf elecrtolytic cap-LM317-larger cap. It is amazing how a small 10uf cap before the regulator will stabilize input to the reg and give less ripple on the output

    RFX-150; anyone seen this before?

It is an option to replace the amp section for example: my mk1 2950 blew the 2312's. instead of replacing the 2312's I decided to install a rfx-75 and I run it at 40w so I can drive a dx-500 to full output. The radio runs cooler with this setup. I can see the rfx-150 as being a great companion...
