Thought I would fire up the Ranger tonight for a few minutes before bedtime,made contact with 304 out of Springfield, Illinois, first contact I have made in almost a month due to the lack of conditions up my way in Central PA, looking forward to the fall when Dx conditions will get better...

Well I got on the air around 2pm on 37 LSB and absolutely nothing but static, gave a shout out a couple of times and no response from anyone,oh well, maybe next weekend the conditions will be better......... 73

I was just thinking if a small clear bottle of gorilla glue might due the repair for you??? Just a thought..........

Not sure about what kind of glue that you should use,but I think we can agree that the k40 and the Wilson 1000 that are being made now are not the same quality as the ones that I remember back in the early 90's when I first got into CB radio,etc. 73
