I spent the whole day working on several of my radios. Non-working ones I'd gotten over time. Monitored 27.375LSB the whole day. I CQ'd Brother Dxer all day, and when I did , several stations (never him) came back to me. So, I had several nice conversations during the day. Took a break for a late lunch and came down to the shack again at 5:30 or so. CQ'd Bro Dxer again but still no luck. Lots of stations calling me saying I was loud at their QTH, but none loud enough for me to copy them for long.
I hope tomorrow is better. 73.

Conditions just aren't in my favor lately. Normally if I hear you, I can easily make the trip back, but.... not lately. I'm stuck in the mud, my friend.
There's always another day.

I went to the radio room this morning as I was getting ready for the day to see what was shaking. I managed to cut thru the clutter to South Carolina on 38 lsb to make a contact with my Lincoln II+ but got the feeling he was hearing me better then I was hearing him. There was a little traffic on 37 lsb but not enough to hold me down. Looks like the summer heat is going to start so decided to remove my experimental dipole from the attic before it becomes a oven up there. I'm going to use the dipole on a listening radio in the garage. Happy DXing

Good afternoon everyone,
Was on early this morning on 37 and 38 LSB from 730-9am and made the following contacts:
254 North Carolina
1171 Wisconsin
655 Jackson,Mississippi
641 South Carolina
364(Charlie Tango) Nashville, Tennessee
423( Tanker Yanker) North Carolina
Conditions this morning up my way were pretty good and as of now,it's gotten quiet.........

Yep. Great QSO mi amigo. I wish I could have heard your Superbase. Maybe next time. I turned the echo up like you suggested. Maybe it will be better. We'll see.

BTW - I had a QSO with 329 Mike in Louisville KY. His rig sounded great !! He said it was set up by Chris @ Nomad Radio. He couldn't stop telling me what a great tech Nomad is. I agree 100%.

I need to do something different with the Superbase setup. It's not the radio, but the antenna I have it on. I have one ordered and it should be here Saturday. I'm also waiting on a friend who has a tower that's currently laying down. I'd like to put the new antlers up on the tower if possible. But if that doesn't work out, I'll just use a new, and stronger mast.

So until that's all worked out, I'll be on one of the various other radios.

That slight amount of echo gives your radio more of a punch. It was sounding great!!

I've been thinking about this and researching for the past few weeks. Originally I was looking at the Maco V Quad, but we have some serious wind here and it's not just seasonal. We could get high winds (60 to 80 mph) any time of year. I'm not sure the V Quad would survive too long in my part of the world. So next was the very sturdy Jo Gunn Skip Jack. Unfortunately it's a bit too rich for my current hobby dollar$.

I ordered the Sirio Gainmaster 5/8. The new version has been upgraded and they supposedly took care of the weak spots of the antenna. When I put it together I'll see if I can possibly beef it up a little without too much tightening of the joints. I ordered it from a vendor on Amazon. It's coming from Fremont CA. I ordered it Friday and it's out for delivery today via USPS. $199.00 (free ship)

I probably won't get it mounted for a week or so, but after I do, only time will tell...

You're right Steve, we haven't made contact in a long time! There was a time when we talked weekly. Maybe conditions will swing me around to PA soon.

For what it's worth here is a middle of the road beam I'm considering if I ever get out of this stinking valley. It comes recommended by Jesse James of Dallas. It was his first beam and served him well, now he has a even bigger one and talks world wide. So he says anyway ! LOL
