Glad he doesn't change his username like he changes avatars, he'd be hard to keep up with:D
Mudfoot, I lmao when I first saw the power lines jumping rope:ROFLMAO:
If the adjustment points in the radio aren't within range of alignment, I would take the board out and try to realign the radio. This should let you know if its in the viagra board or not. There are other mods for freq expansion for these radios as well.
Boy ain't that the truth. Can call out across the median to opposite running traffic for whatever reason, 1 maybe 2 out of 10 trucks will comeback. I don't know if its cell phones, they don't have their radio on, maybe they don't even have a radio. Or maybe just scared to talk on one. Whatever...
The intersates are pretty quietfor the most part. Until you get near the city or a major interchange, or traffic jam,
then they all seem to
" lose ose their eir panties anties anties anties"
Point taken psycho. Probably won't throw it away though, it does make a good paper weight:D
I will most definitely repair the radio first. Just tossing this idea around because I have the rfx 75 just sitting there. If I don't, I will just replace the final, align and tune, and maybe put a 2...
I sure will(y) I've heard the rfx75 doesn't agree with some radios, that's why I wanted to get some thoughts here. I installed one on a cobra 29 classic some time back, worked excellent!
Yes sir, thats the plan. Recap, rewire, re-whatever it needs, make sure its up to snuff. Its pretty much a mess in there, but will be a good project for winter time. Just had that rfx sitting there and thought, what if? I'm gonna be elbow deep in this thing anyway:)
So, a pal of mine gave me a cobra 148f. This thing is rough, looks like its been kicked around in the floor board of a dump truck (and probably has been:confused:). The radio powers on and receives, but the final is toast due to a broken antenna incident. My plan is to completely restore this...
Only that it might be the model no. IDK. I'm thinking it might be just a channel display for extra channels, again Idk. Does it have a band switch? I've only installed the lescomm kits and the expo kits, never seen one like that before either.
Just google search "best cb shop" or something similar, there are already web sites that do this and say this ones better than that one. Some will give addresses, phone no. web sites etc.
I haven't had the 955, but my stryker 440 and 447 have held up very well compared to the galaxy radios I've had in the past. Stryker gets my vote of the two(y)
