    Yaesu 101E Finals

Low Power First let me thank everyone who has replied! The receive works great. On 10 meters the output power is only 8 watts on ssb but is 80 watts rms on 80 meters. I read in the service manual that a "short" between the white leads from the tank coil could cause a similar problem. Does...

    Yaesu 101E Finals

OK...I don't run the radio in AM mode but when I have it in the tune mode I can see 45 - 50 watts on my swan meter when I turn the carrier up. Is this number low? I picked this radio up on ebay and it had GE tubes in it with the 100pf c125 still in it. I changed the cap to 10pf and...

    Yaesu 101E Finals

Hello, I have read threads that say when replacing the finals on these radios with usa type tubes, before neautralization to change cap 125 from 100pf to 10pf. Is this the cap when looking from the top of the radio down at the finals, runs between the variable cap to the top of the coil located...

    Antenna Matching With Yaesu 101E

I'm using the tuner correctly and can acheive 1:1 SWR without a problem. Can someone please explain why my receive is so poor WITH the tuner. As stated, a station I'm receiving at 9db without the tuner will drop to 1 with. Also, is anyone familiar with the Chameleon V1 antenna? I am looking...

    Antenna Matching With Yaesu 101E

Thanks for so many replies!! This is it in a nut shell. First I tune in to a dummy load without the tuner. Without going any further I can receive signals on all the bands very well. When I go a step further and then tune my SWR with the Super Match tuner, someone I was receiving at 9db before...

    Antenna Matching With Yaesu 101E

Hello Guys, OK, Years back I was in to cb radio and have an Antron 99 antenna. A ham co-worker convinced me to get my ham and I've had my license for some years and have used it every now and then on 2 meters. I got hold of an Yaesu 101E and have it hooked up to the Antron 99 antenna that I...

Low SSB Audio With Yaesu 101E

Hey Guys, I recently hooked up a Yaesu 101e and I'm trying to use it with a D104 TUG8 base mic. The mic works fine on my RCI but on the Yaesu the audio drive is very low on ssb and I even changed the r2 resister on the audio board to a 4.7m value as advised on one of the forums. I wired a cheap...

    Yaesu 101e

I have a low pulsating hum coming from the speaker when the volume control is turned completely down. As you slowly turn the volume control up the hum becomes lower and lower until I reach the 2 o'clock position and then the hum is gone. Would appreciate any help!
