I just picked up a Stalker XX export. If anyone has/had one and wants to share stories I would love to hear them. I grew up with a stalker xx in my dads office and a ix in dads truck. I am gonna use the stalker xx with a turner +3 and a ts500 as a base.

When were you active DXHOUND? Did you go to Keesler for tech school?

I was a USAF Ground Radio(2e173) from 1998-2004. I was just wondering how many other hams here were Ground Radio or Satcom troops at one time or another. I think it would be cool to swap stories or see if we deployed together that kinda stuff. Steve Baker W2SRB

I am not using the TS 500 currently it was hooked to a galaxy 99v. Since I switched to the 2600 I have not used an amp.

I am running a 50 watt bird hr2600 tuned by doc and mostly ssb.

I would entertain trade offers for ab1 amps besides texas stars is what I meant.

Chipswitches are no longer made and a 2600 really does need a chip. Look around and you can find chipped radios. Sometimes you have to look on Ham sites or sections of forums.

My TS 500 works well but the radio I am using now is hotter than I am comfortable hooking to it. I would rather underdrive a high drive than overdrive a normal drive amp. Also my vehicle charging system doesn't handle 500+ watts well. I am willing to entertain other AB1 biased amps offers...

I have 3 2510s 2 lincolns and a 2600. One of each doc has set up and is chipped. I also have a rogerbird tuned 2510 that is very well done. Chip and tune being equal the only advantage to the 2600 has is the tone board for repeaters. The 26 doesnt have a roger beep if that is important to you...
