i had the same problem.. what i had to do was take a put a wure from one of the screws on the mic to the radio.. i dont know why it happens but it does. when i had my 142 i had to do it to both my tuner ss an my silver eagle. might want to try it it is a pain to have an extra wire roaming around...

the charging cable from the alt to the batterys is it running across the firewall? if it is you might want to try to re-route that to, cause you might be getting "blow back" from it.. i cant think of the right term. but ya try grounding everything even double ground it. even run a ground strap...
first off what kind of vehichle? you might have to re-route your power wires from the amp away from your computer if its in a new car, an ground the amp to the seat frame bolts. an radio also. Where do you have your power wires running to? the front battery or the ones in the trunk? most of the...
i think you would happeir with either the 440 or the 450.. i used the 430 an i run the 440 now,, pretty much thr same radio just newer alot eaiser to work on.
i have a '01 f150.. had the same problem... i went with a hump mount,, it works gr8. i used one with the teeth on the bottom, u get some that are smooth, "junk"... an also one with the cup holders.. i mounted the radio an all that an took the cup holder part an shoved under the seat. nice tight...
