23 channel radio to 40 channel radio?

Thanks I don't know much about 23 channel radios. Yeah its getting rare these days to find someone talking on the older 23 channel radios. This one sure did have a nice sound to it.

23 channel radio to 40 channel radio?

I talked to 147 in Ontario Canada today on 37lsb. He said he was using a 23 channel midland radio with a modification to talk on channel 37. Is this possible? By the way he was hitting me with an S 7 and he said the radio was doing 12 watts.

wilson on the roof or 102" whip on the toolbox

Both are great antennas the 102 whip sways a lot but I personally like it better than the wilson. It is really up to you. You will get great results from both antennas.

    Antenna Height?

I may do that some time in the near future and let you guys know how it turns out. I know that the antenna is the most important part of the setup so I wan't to make sure it is as good as I can get it. Lately I have been thinking about adding around 200 watts of power to my setup, but I would...

    Antenna Height?

I am using ladder line to feed the antenna. I can talk localy 30 to 50 miles using 20 watts so I am not doing that bad. Before I put my antenna on the hill I could talk maybe 10 to 12 miles. Thats with the same antenna and same radio. I am having trouble talking locally over the hill that the...

    Antenna Height?

Ok so maybe I should bring it back down closer. But I still wonder why everyone says to have your antenna at least 36 feet to the feed point. Can someone explain that?

    Antenna Height?

I live at the bottom of a mountain and I ran my antenna up about 400 feet or about half way up the mountain. My antenna is a maco 5/8 and is currently 16 feet to the feed point. If I move the antenna up, buy up I mean higher in the air not further up the mountain,so that the feed point is 36...

    Good day on 38lsb

I use to shoot skip on AM and it was ok but a while back I started using ssb and love it! Tonight I made contacts with 111 102 and 808 who were all in Missouri. These are by no means rare contacts but I still love the thrill of shooting skip.Everyone I talked to said I sounded great and since I...

    Newbie Base Station Setup diagram

I agree I would stay away from the powerlines. If the antenna would fall while you were setting it up that could be a bad combination. I do recommend putting it as hight as possible though. Good Luck!

best magnet mount mobile cb antennas

I also think the wilsons are the best. I also love the 102' which is what I currently use because the magnet mounts always seem to get knocked off with trees.

    Confusions about CB's...

Your will be able to hear people while in ssb mode but there voice will be all distorted and you won't be able to understand them. Usally channels 35-40 are used for ssb but mostly 38. You will probably have more people to talk to with ssb and you will be able to talk further. As far as the...

    Confusions about CB's...

Not sure about the antenna in the pic but I would recomend the wilson 1000 or 5000.If ssb doesn't intrerest you then a cobra 29 is an exellent choice. I currently use one in my mobile and it does a great job. ssb will usally let you talk farther because it puts out more power but i'm not...
