    Thanks Jay in the Mojave

Hi, Yeah i'm alittle familiar with the KLV 1000 amps. Most people i've run into that have them are running 2 1/2 - 3 watts into it. Gets alittle fuzzy running anymore into it. But, there all built different, (just like antennas....LOL) yours may react different.. Anyhow, good luck with...

The only piece of equipment i run is a RCI 2995dx stock base. I have a (short) heavy copper ground wire from my radio to 3 8ft groundrods right outside the window. I use 3 8ft groundrods also for my antenna ground. When i get finished installing tower, i will ground tower ect. The Top...

I started this post to Thank Jay for his awesome service, now its turned into a antenna war zone....LOL I don't talk dx as much as you guys. When i do i usually use the Beam. And point it away from my neighbors... LOL... My wife has M.S. and we use the radio for communication. She clueless...

    Thanks Jay in the Mojave

Yes, but, you got to understand i live in a neighborhood with close houses around. I can't get real great height on my antennas. The fiberglass Imax 2000 and A-99 bleed my neighbors to much and i get high noise levels on them around here, more than i get on metal antennas i have had up. My...

    Thanks Jay in the Mojave

Everyone has there own likes and dislikes on different antennas. I'm not really concerned what type of antenna others people run or what they pay for them. As long as they are happy with it, thats all that counts. I have run the Starduster, Big Stiks, A-99, Maco V5/8, Sigma 4,Imax 2000...

I already have a Shooting Star beam up. The I-10k will be used for groundplane Omni directional use. I have used fiberglass antennas quite a bit, but, i prefer a good solid metal antenna.

    Thanks Jay in the Mojave

My standpoint of getting a I-10k is i like metal antennas better than the fiberglass antennas. I'm getting to the point in my life where i'd like to install an antenna and forget about it for many, many years. Been changing antennas all my life from them falling apart in the winds and...

Top One Ground Plane (Base Antenna)

After using my uncles Top One for over a few days now i'm sort of surprised. My Imax was 38 ft to feedpoint before i lowered it and Top One is 31 ft to bottom of ring. Transmit is the same, but, Top One recieves alittle better, mostly because its more quiet.

Top One Ground Plane (Base Antenna)

Did some controlled testing today on the Top One. Actually it's holding its own against my Imax 2000. The locals i talked to the other night had there power turned down and didn't tell me. So, with people i trust i tested again and this actually is not a bad antenna.

    Signal Engineering antennas

I put up a signal engineering Quad about 3 months ago and had little trouble getting the match. Recently, a large bird pulled one of the elements out of the hub. I pulled it down and fixed the element and the self tapping screw that holds the element into the hub. Everything changed and i...
