    Anytone 5555n2

Hey Tin Can I did that on mine too (made the values all 0's) and it made it swing a fair bit more on AM mode. However, I don't think it has anything to do with NPC, I think it more likely that those two menu items (19 & 20) are ALC adjustments.

    Anytone 5555n2

I strongly recommend posting with a much more specific thread title! There are umpteen threads on here about the 5555N2 already and no way to distinguish yours from all of those. You will get way more eyes on your post if you give it a more specific title....... I've never heard of an NPC mod...

    Can anyone ID this radio?

EICO 772 Citizens Band Radio. Likely from the mid 1960's.

    Texas Ranger Tre Top one

That whole style of radio is outdated technology now. The days of buying radios and then having to mod them or do the dreaded "peak and tune" are over. Technology has improved dramatically since those days! The better plan would have been to buy one of the Anytone or Radioddity radios such...

Anyone Else Hearing the "Radar" style Jammer on 27.555 ?

That's generally option one for me. I rarely sit on 385, 425 or 555 anymore...... seems like every jerk with a radio in the USA is on one or the other of those channels. In the last two days I've heard preachers, crying babies, air raid sirens, morse code, right wing politics galore, fox news...

Anyone Else Hearing the "Radar" style Jammer on 27.555 ?

It's been going for two days straight right on the international call frequency. Sounds much like an old school over the horizon radar........almost but not quite like the old Russian "woodpecker" that was on shortwave forever. There are several clues that it is a jammer and not a real radar...

8 element beam on Rohn 25g

I experimented with this years ago. If you are only interested in talking DX, there is no point in putting an antenna more than ONE wavelength high. There is absolutely nothing to be gained by going higher UNLESS you are doing it to clear solid obstructions such as a building or hillside which...

    11 meter is very quiet?

Not sure if I'll have much time for radio today. We have family coming up for a visit and my youngest leaves for college on Saturday morning so there is LOTS of stuff going on here! I will try and sneak out to the shop from time to time and see if anything happening on the radio.

    11 meter is very quiet?

JJ I heard you clear as a bell up here this afternoon. Heard 100% of your conversation with 785 & 204 Florida and 327 Alabama. I could hear both sides but you were much louder than they were. Go figure! Tried QSKing and CQing a few times but couldn't get through. Those good 'ole boys are a...

    Radio shops

Qixiang, a Chinese company, make Anytone, Radioddity, and the newer Stryker and CRT radios. Anytone is Qixiang's "house" brand, and their most common radios are the original 6666, The 6666Pro, and a slew of versions of the 5555, the newest of which is the "short case" 5555N2. They are all...

    11 meter is very quiet?

Just got home from cutting wood. Band is open.... JJ I tried calling you but to no avail. I did end up making two contacts in Texas (again!) and one in Louisiana. S9+10 signal from 4090 Houston! Skip just needs to go a little longer for Colombia..... I'll keep trying on 37.

RCI 2995DX CF troubleshooting help needed

You may want to check your receive as well. The entire CB band has been very busy with signals most of this week. You should at least be hearing stuff on 6, 11, 19, 28 etc. If those channels are quiet too you may have more than one issue.........

    Radio shops

The Stryker won't NEED an alignment. They are plug and play right out of the box. Any radio that needs a "peak and tune" before you can use it is a radio not worth considering........

    11 meter is very quiet?

I won't be on the air until the afternoon (our time) JJ...... I have to keep working on filling the woodshed in the morning before the heat of the day! It might be nice and hot out now, but in just a few months we'll be needing a fire to stave off the cold and damp....... Mostly been hanging...

    11 meter is very quiet?

Fantastic DX day yesterday......at least in the morning and midday. Had quite the pipeline to the Houston area and talked to no less than nine stations in a row in Houston LOL! Then the skip zone moved eastward and I had contacts in Louisiana and Arkansas for an hour. Lots and lots of South...

AnyTone AT-5555 Plus (New Version) DC Power Loss

Sounds like you have the right meters. When I do run an amp with my 5555N2 I run AM deadkey at just under 1 watt. Remember it's the swing that kills amps, not the deadkey! What kind of amp was it? The RM Italy ones seem to be ultra-sensitive.........I know a couple people that bought them and...

    Scary Anomaly

That's exactly what I'm referring too..... The one my neighbors had alternated between loud white noise and a motorboat sound. And just like Greg, it wiped out my receive. I spent a bunch of $ to buy the neighbors a system that didn't create RFI. Now everyone is happy.

AnyTone AT-5555 Plus (New Version) DC Power Loss

Pretty much guarantee it. The thing is if you don't have a proper peak reading watt meter you will see less power from the 5555N2 than what it is actually putting out on peaks. It's very easy to overdrive an amp with that radio unless you've gone into the service menu and turned deadkey way...
