Something i left out, i soldered a small piece of wire from the switch case to the post between the rx and tx it has the wire that goes to pin #3 of the mic plug. I also copied the stock mic and soldered a wire from the mic element ground to the switch post that is the third from the side the...
Somehow i ended up with 2 threads. the other tread has it all, but this one only has 2 posts. My apologies. look for the same title in general cb services discussion. Merry Christmas
I turned down the modulation adjustment inside the radio. from its normal position, 3/4 full, to 1/2 . It worked, no more squeal. Im still going to try the rf choke to see if it will give me more modulation without the squeal.
I ordered a 47uh rf choke coil inductor. the wiring guide said it would stop the squeal. The turner mic wiring guide is helpful in figuring out the wires
I fixed it i had to jump a wire from the mic ground to the switch. Also ran a wire from the pin3 of the mic plug to the switch that grounds the rx or tx when they are switched. The electric diagram is how i wired the rest of the wires. Loud and clear the general mc6 oh yes! but Now it has...
Hello, Im having some success. I wired the +350 like the electric diagram i found in a photo on ebay of another +350 for sale. and i have a photo of that. So, It recieves as good as the stock mic. It transmits too, it sounds as good as or better than the stock mic. here are some more photos...
Hello, Im trying to wire this Turner +350 mic to my General mc-6. I have The original mic so i took it apart and made a picture, of both of them to compare. The one on the right is the +350 mic. I wired it the way the turner +350 manual shows, to wire for electronic switching but that did not...

The courier a75 is working for the most part. except for the meter zero in the back being unstable. also I am only getting about 50% modulation. i purchased a service manual and did the transmitter alignment. i checked the mic, and wired another mic. the audio sounds good on a monitor radio its...
its working. That courier 1 a75 sounds awesome with that plate modulation. and it has great ears. the couplate i made seems to work well The 6bq5 still goes up to around 300f idling but it might be okay. its less than before. so im going to keep an eye on it
Thanks for the info' I checked the resistance to pin 2 its .513m ohms. or 513k ohms. i have a peak atlas esr70 resistance/capacitance meter. so i checked the c304 10uf capacitor its 12.81uf. The esr is 4. The chart shows its low and thats good. I ordered some 510k 300v metal film resistors, and...
Hello, I purchased a courier 1 changed the capacitors, and some resistors. luckily i found a mic that works. it transmittes, receives, hears great, everything works . but the Modulator tube 6bq5 is overheating. i traced to the rc-70 a 4 lead component between the 12bay7 and the 6bq5. the voltage...
Hello, I purchased a general radiotelephone mc5. Unfortunately, it does not have a power cord. I was wondering if anyone has one for sale. Im also looking at the schematic. Trying to figure out if there is a way to rig, or make a power cord. Thanks
Hello, I recently i replaced the can capacitors the black diodes, and a couple of big resistors. on the demon 250. It worked great for about a month. Then it started to surge, and dim the lights in the room. then it stopped putting out full power. it only puts out about 70watts am down from...
I did change all of the can capacitors when i purchase a capacitor, and a resistor kit from ebay awhile back, I also put in new c624 and c5 capacitors. I wonder if one of them may be bad, or it may be one of the old caps that wasnt in the kit.
