    So would I!

What good 10 meter amps with SSB Biasing are ones to look for?

Messenger (biased), Texas Star, Palomar-Boomer-Galaxy, Commander (Palomar) are some of the ones I have used over the years. Most, if not all have been modded in some fashion that they could be considered home brew. Never a complaint.

    Texas star 667v

A good Texas Star 667 could easily do 625-650+ Watts all day peak on AM and SSB with 15V to the power leads. They were also fairly clean amplifiers and I still use the ones I have over the years. You need to inspect the bias Voltage to the base of the transistors since they were developed with...

"Messenger M4V" for those that might know ?

I use a M4V with SD1446's and it works great on 10-meter USB and even on AM when talking to a local. It has been tuned for 28.400 and only needed to add one variable capacitor between stages. I believe I left the fixed cap on the output alone. It can cruise all day with a small fan. Yes, there...

Poor receive, Ranger/Galaxy radio chassis, acts like no AGC

AM, but I will check the SSB tomorrow.

WHO MAKES THE BEST COAX SWITCH ??

I have had or used Delta, MFJ, Daiwa and Diamond and thought the Diamond was well built and had the best isolation for a coax switch.

What Signal Generator do you use?

I use an IFR / Marconi that does a good job for me to align radios.

Poor receive, Ranger/Galaxy radio chassis, acts like no AGC

I have two radios that I have been looking to repair. The first is a Lincoln II that has poor receive that I tricked into performing fair by substituting some resistor values around the op-amp AGC circuit. I thought it was a poor rf amp transistor and replaced that small surface mount device...

Transistor push-pull common emitter amplifier capacitors on collectors

I read that but I still was looking to dig in deeper. Thank you.

Transistor push-pull common emitter amplifier capacitors on collectors

I meant to say capacitor instead of transistor. I am sorry.

Any Thoughts on the 757 amps?

I key 10 Watts and swing to 60 clean peak and get about the same at 15 Volts.

Any Thoughts on the 757 amps?

The trick is to have the radio up front spew out the garbage. Bird meters are only accurate reading a steady signal such as CW. Modulated signals with these radios and reading with a Bird peak kit can make these snake oil salesmen appear to be gods.

Transistor push-pull common emitter amplifier capacitors on collectors

On common emitter push-pull transistor amplifiers there are capacitors employed from the collectors of the power transistors to ground on most amplifiers. They are usually soldered right at the output transformer. They range from 100pF to around 330pF. What is the purpose of these...

went to my last hamfest yesterday

I live close to Dayton and went this Spring to the Greene County Fairgrounds for the Hamvention after its two year absence. Not going again anytime soon unless there is a group of us who would like to party.

    Galaxy 2547 vs. cobra 2000

I use a Marconi RF Signal Generator to maintain my equipment and that of some of my friends. With it I can see a lot about a radio's receiving capability. Most radios today are very good with dual conversion. Of the older radios, a properly aligned Uniden HR2510 or a Galaxy DX99V would be my...
