I agree that it will work only for 20, hence the reason why it was made just for 20. But I have a 10-80m wire antenna fed with twin lead into a tuner for going multi-band :) works pretty darn good too :)

i just made a vertical dipole using coax. Took 50 ft of coax with a connector on one end and nuthing on the other. did the math for 20m an cut the wire I was gonna use for that band. soldered one leg onto the shield and one leg to the center. Took the end soldered to the shield and that went up...

mine is actually 120 ft but I have a hell of a time tunin 40m for some damn reason. I can tune 40 but takes a month of sundays...lol Other than that I have NO complaints :D

for an antenna, you can do what I did if room permits. 119.6 ft of copper wire and some ladder line and a manual tuner. Just divide the 119.6 by 2 to get each leg and you will have a 20/40/80 antenna. I have worked many a station with this set up whether in the US or abroad. Shouldn't cost more...

I also talked to PJ2/K9LZJ on 20m. Did it on a homebrew fan dipole with the feedpoint 20ft off the ground. I now have a balanced line up with the feed point right at 50ft, same hight as my a99. i use the a99 for 10-17 with a tuner.

Last Saturday, I heard The USS Hornet on 20m. Stationed in San Fransisco Bay if memory serves me correct. Doing a special event because of Veterans day. He couldn't pull my whole call sign out of the pile up. And I am only doin 50w until I get a bigger power supply :)

ok guys, i have a dumb question...lol..my Varmint xl-250 has LOAD, PLATE and DRIVER PLATE knobs. I am confused on how to tune it in case I wanna use it as I dont wanna blow any tubes or hurt radio :) SO if someone could tell me how to tune it, I would GREATLY appreciate it :)

I just want my own 10m radio lmaooo If I really want to I could run it but I eally dont need to. I am borrowing a magnum 257 30w version an have made as many conacts with just the radio as I did with a klv 350 :D Tis the reason for my thinking when i got it lol

I also run the 30w version 257 with the blue light display. I have made many contacts on 10m an 11m with it :) Never had a bad report yet!
