Why dont I see much love for the RANGER RCH 618

Yes seems a bit odd that they didn't catch on in big numbers, so many good things about them but I suspect that people couldn't get over the image of a mobile in a base body but the interface to the screen and controls looks like a seriously user friendly system and lets face it the mobile...

    Galaxy radio drift

Being a CB operator from back in the heyday of the 1970's myself it great to see some of the old gear still being used, I doubt that there have been many improvements in later radios except for the inclusion of micro processors to do some of the heavy lifting. I still have a few of the older AM...

    Galaxy radio drift

Whilst 4 Hz is measurable its barley relevant, and as has been said its from A Xtal outside of the lock and may well just be standard Xtal aging.

    Galaxy radio drift

And still a work in progress, it can only get better! I am into any thing that saves me the bother of doing it myself even if the route they took is probably not the way I would have done but their result looks like it will be in the end better than my approach ( I am more of an analog designer...

    Made in Chicom

You and me both, half the problem is they in the past employed English teachers whose first language was not English, its only in the last 12 to 18 months that they have tightened up and now demand that English language teaches must be native English speakers. You woudlnt beleive the people they...

    Made in Chicom

I find it amusing that every one points the bone at China for producing cheap crap, well news flash China makes very high quality electronics, household goods and clothing. Where the blame for cheap Chinese crap needs to be pointed at fairly and squarely is the cheap arsed USA and other foreign...

    Galaxy radio drift

Yep, self deleted. To give really constructive criticism I would need to analyse the circuit more, both from a theory and also practical (the parts they used) aspect.

CB dedicated dipole?? Half or Full Wave?

Years ago in the late 1970's I made a SLIM JIM for 10/11 metres no BS with impedance matching, just 50 Ohms and spot on performance and improved angle of radiation. Worked surprisingly well on skip given the lower angle of radiation a great improvement on the 1/4 wave and 4 element beam I was...

Wanted (Dead or alive) Galaxy 95t2 or 95t

Delivery would be to New Zealand, so freight would be an issue. I havent looked at that issue yet, probably more of an issue from your end. Graeme
