    CB Go Box Project

After I initially get this up and running and make sure all is working fine, i plan on adding a genasun solar charge controller and perhaps a powerfilm fold able or roll able solar panel so i can recharge off the grid. This rig has two antenna hook ups that can be easily toggled. One will be...

    CB Go Box Project

This is my go box as of two weeks ago, i have since added a coax switch and another antenna mount (SO 239 for a dipole). I have also mounted a rig runner for power distribution. My battery is a 40 ah battery that when it arrives will be toward the right side of the box. Hope to have it up and...

The idea is a field portable, self contained radio in a box.

    CB Go Box Project

I settled on a 40ah Bioenno Power LiFePo4 with AC charger for my go box, should be in this week. I will just need to power pole all the power connections and should be good to go.

    CB base station antenna question

Yeah that's what i was afraid of, i will probably test this used SP out and if it performs better, which if should, i will swap it out.

    CB base station antenna question

I currently have an Antron 99 for a base station antenna but have recently bought a used super perpetrator antenna and was wondering how close i can put these two together? They wouldn't be running at the same time i would install a coax switch. I would rather have them both in the air but if...

    102'' whip

i see that there are stud mounts that go from 3/8's to an SO239 connection then i am guessing i could find a PL259 to BNC to make it work...just wondering if it would be worth it reception wise.

    102'' whip

Has anyone here ever connected a 102'' whip to a handheld? Can it be done? Does it work?

    CB beam question

I was wondering if it were possible to put a beam antenna on a mast. I was looking at the L2 Quad from Lightning Antennas. http://www.lightningantennas.com/quad-models/l2-quad-bis/ I have read and heard that masts should not be used with beam antennas but this beam is a small 2 element beam...

    CB Go Box Project

Codeman, thank you for the comment. My plan is to have this away from the car so a painters pole will not be the best idea. I plan on stringing the dipole with para cord which should allow me some flexibility as to what configuration i use (horizontal, inverted v, slope etc.)

    CB Go Box Project

I decided to start a CB go box project. I would like a unit i could take camping away from my mobile but be able to make some contacts have some fun in the field. I know Go box's are big with the Ham community but i haven't really seen much as far as someone doing it with a CB radio. I have...

    11 meter Magnetic Loop antenna

I have been thinking about a little project making a cb go box and was wondering it is possible to make a 200 watt magnetic look antenna. I have a mag loop from doxytronics that i use for shortwave listening but the transmit power cant be beyond 25 Watts PEP. I am not sure if this is even...
