I wonder if it has anything to do with getting a new (vanity) callsign.
I can't sign into either account!
Thanks for the reply, I left an email for admin.
What's going on with qrz.com?
My biography disappeared, and it will not let me log in, siting incorrect password.
It won't let me reset my password either.
Anyone else having any problems??
Ya Doc, I have a G5RV that works very well on the lower bands.
I am thinking of going even cheaper and getting a Workman Bandit II which is basically an A99 with a 2KW power handling capability. Or should I say, stated 2KW power handling. I only run about 700 watts, so should be OK.
Thanks Weasel, I was wondering about that. I have a FT-450AT, and a MFJ989D so getting the xmitter happy should be no problem. I was thinking the Imax 2K would be electrically long enough to be close to a quarter wavelength on 12.
OK, it will be awhile before I can get my LP fixed and back on the tower so I am searching for a vertical I can put up there for now.
I would like something without ground radials, or something with shortened ground radials since there is a tree branch I have to get through to get the antenna...
Hey WW, I use this one on my Yaesu FT-450AT
33 Amp 12 Volt 13.8V Regulated Radio Power Supply 12V - eBay (item 150543742778 end time Jan-11-11 22:17:47 PST)
Works great.
I has nothing to do with more power. The 15, 20,40 refers to the amateur 15, 20, and 40 meter bands. It is probably not connected, or even if it is, you will see little or no power output on 11 meters with the bandswitch in those positions.
OMG, as if a roger beep isn't enough, he has one that plays dit dit dit dah?
(morse code for a V)
I hope to God that skip from his country doesn't roll in here any time soon!
Never mind
I found the info on Defpoms' site. It seems my little mobile shares a chassis with the Stalker IX, Realistic TRC-490, Uniden / President Washington, Cobra 142GTL and others that use the PC-385 PCB
Now all I need is the 11.1125 crystal, and a SRF meter....
I need alignment procedures and/or service manual for this mobile. It has a Uniden mother board so I'm hoping someone out here knows what other radios use this chassis with the MB8719 PLL.
I also need a 11.1125Mhz crystal, and a meter for it.
Anyone?
TIA

Be very sparing with that Rad Shack tuner cleaner. It's mostly silicon lubricant.
Before even doing that, power it down, unplug it, let it sit for awhile and then take the cover off and unplug and re-seat all the connectors going to/from the freq counter.
Several times.
Work the freq counter...
