One web site I went to said, Amphenol was high heat resistance similar to Teflon. That is why I assumed the Amphenol - Teflon comparison. I have bought the cheap 259's in the past, and have melted the plastic. That blow torch may have been just a wee bit too hot... :D

Matt Hughes is a good stiker, phenomenol at slamming guys to the mat, and his ground and pound and submissions are the best in the UFC in my opinion.
Yup, it's great to see others interested in an awsome sport...

Is there a big difference between the Teflon and Amphenol PL259 connectors, other than the Amphenol being more expensive? I believe they both resist high temperature.

Huge UFC fan. Chuck Liddell, Matt Hughes, Rich Franklin. Mixed martial arts and just about everything else, these guys are the real deal. I wanted to see Arlovski take back the belt.
This is the first sport that I have really been interested in watching in over 20 years. Let's just...
"unless it is white lightning." LOL  That was funny.
Why is it, anytime I am driving down the road in the big truck, when I see lightning, it always appears to strike from the clouds then to earth? Not ground first then to sky. Surely it's not an optical illusion. Well, in my case it...

I know people who love their Imax, and it seems to do a good job for them. I prefer a metal antenna, they have always outperformed fiberglass in my uses. One just cannot compare the quality of the I10k to a fiberglass groundplane antenna. As far as the 10k going down in 65mph wind...

I've tested the 102" whip against both MrCoily and Predator10K antennas
on my pickup truck parked in my driveway, talking 23 to 25 miles away to several base stations. The Coily and the 10K both outperformed the 102" whip. Why you ask? I haven't a clue.

My old Spectrum1600 has withstood 70+ mph winds, ice, snow etc.
The I-10k is bullet proof when it comes to the materials and engineering. I would bet it could easily withstand 100mph winds.
I don't like fiberglass base antennas.

I am sorry for your loss.
Life's a bitch, then someone you LOVE dies...
Time will make it a wee bit easier. I have lost several loved ones in the past two years. It hurts deeply, but some pain will subside in time - trust me, for this I know.
My condolences to you and yours, Chris...
