Sounds familiar, no BS either, & that's a great description of my Z-180. Less static, & better ears. More signal out, with less signal fluctuation while moving too. :) BTW, H&Y claims it to be a 5/8 wave though, not me. :wink:

Try using a cobra M75 mic on it, and you should be OK. Both of mine work great, so..... Absolutely 0 problems. One is tuned perfectly,and has some BIG audio! :lol: :D The other one is just turned up a little, and aligned. Not getting rid of them any time soon. Sorry to hear about yours...

Hotrod, Yes you are correct, it will work fine on any 5K magnet, trunk, or roof or mount. The one I got even came with a roof mount kit in the packaging, but I just screwed it onto my Wilson roof mount instead because I did'nt feel like messing with my headliner again. :wink:
