Don't waste your $$$. Not very good IMHO. SWR was off the scale, & had to use a taller stinger to make it tune. Still sounded like poo when we did that, so I installed it under my tire, and put it out of it's misery. I can't believe astatic put their name on such a piece of crap lke that!! :evil:

I've got the big brother to that radio(357 DX) W/ SP-1A installed by Bob, and yes, they're impressive radios for sure. The only minor complaint I have is there's no way to check SWR without hooking up an external SWR meter inline. That could spell disaster if you don't have a way to check it...

Re: MAGNUM S9 Ditto. The one I had was perfect right out of the box after the conversion, but Bob knows a few tricks to get a little more out of them if you're wanting more.

Best thing to do is talk to someone in here about that, or Bob himself, at Bob's CB. He's one of the guru's that developed them. He brought mine back to new condition when mine was having problems.

Looks great! Great setup. The KLV is a really nice amp. I wish I never traded mine! Clean as hell, & you could'nt tell it was in line unless you looked at the RX meter on the other end. I'll have to put some pics of my shack in here when I get a chance.

TRC 495 is a good unit. You'll probably out grow it and be looking for a bigger unit soon, but it's a great base radio. Enjoy!
