Well, the upgrades do increase the cost of production significantly...... And the Texas Star amplifiers will perform pretty dang good as they are built, just not to their full potential....... The upgrades improve the reliability, and do improve the performance. In my opinion, the most to gain...

Well, now the video I saw did not exactly say that....... It said that Texas Star was going to cease production in the very near future ....... And that an un-named, current, long term employee is very interested in purchasing the company, and is looking into doing that.

Nope ..... The best solution is to seal the coax at the antenna feed point .......

The wicking effect will always be there, even with a drip loop anywhere in the coax........ With additional water/moisture entering the coax at the antenna feed point, the water will make it's way all the way around the drip loop eventually. A drip loop will not stop the water........ Real...

If water gets into the coax at the antenna, nothing will stop the intrusion all the way thru eventually........ The shield braid will act as a wick....... And corrosion will be the result...... I have seen that happen numerous times..... A drip loop will not stop the wicking effect......
