John always returned calls, he was always straight up about anything I asked him, both on the Galaxy and Texas Star side, same with Mike.
I remember when I first met Mike and invited him to join the forum.
I really think Ranger is a large part of the equation.
If whoever is left at...
I am sure it's part of it, I know that there's still a segment of the market that likes the Galaxy style of radios.
But.
I think Stryker pulled a good chunk of it away, and the QX radios are now eating a good chunk of sales too.
And QX still remains competitive in price regardless of tariffs...
I wasn't always that way.
Texas Star started long ago, back with the outcom amps using Amperex transistors, and really designed for 23 channel radios that did struggle to make 3.5 watts.
Even early 40 channel radios were making 14-16 watts on SSB.
And as lacking as the bias network is in the TS...
It's unusually warm here we had 68 today, hit 70 yesterday.
The bushes and trees around here are starting to bud because it's been so warm and that's not good, no doubt we'll see more freezing temps before spring.
Not much snow pack and if it stays warm it's gonna melt off early.
Snow is the...
There's another one out there that shows one with larger electrodes, I think they were rated for appox 250 total hours run time and replacement plates for about 4 bucks.
Your right,it's just super simple basic highschool science class stuff, but it's a novel spin on it.
And someone is making...

Yes ..
A couple years ago FCC opened public comments for several cb radio changes, when they dropped the 155 limit on comms was one of them.
Higher output and expansion was also on the table and honestly the response was dismal from the CB radio community.
Plenty of naysayers complained in...
We have a decent group here on Ten with weekly nets but I agree it's under used.
We used to have a AM net on 29.2 but most of the those guys are not around anymore.
It's nothing like 30 + years ago.
It's always been a favorite band of mine, cheap, easy, manageable antenna length for mobile...
The reason for FM band just below 10 meters (?), the Hidden "Alpha" channels, 27.555 and ( oh my goodness) clipping the Diode.
Not to mention the Boots
Wait until @bob85 sees this
I wish Jazz was still around

I can remember everyone wanting a 5 Star Galaxy.
There was 2 brothers in New York that had ranger build the planet series of export radios like the Pluto, the Saturn ect but they had zero warranty, nothing.
Can't remember the name
Sold as is export radios and the hardcore cb guys all loved them...
I hope Mike gets a handle on Texas Star
I have seen a couple of 350 Mini amps
and it's not the quality of past builds.....
Texas Ranger will keep ranger building the galaxy clones I think.
