Die Hard with a Vengeance
John McClane needs an ambulance escort so he switches CB over to channel 9 and with out keying the radio, immediately a 911 dispatcher answers…
Right! Never happened even back in the day!
Been using the desk mic I wired up for the Quad6 Pro and the on air audio reports have been very positive. I also like the audio using both the radio's talkback and monitoring on my Kenwood 890. Very similar in clean SSB audio to the stock hand mic but a bit more body to it without the...
I know the north Panhandle area very well as I have driven big rigs thru there hundreds of times for over 35 years. Most commonly during the spring windy season the winds gust up to 50-55 mph but yes there are times when they exceed that but it's not a regular occurrence like in the Guadalupe...
Very extreme!
Where in Texas are you?
The only area I know with extreme winds like that is in the Guadalupe mountains along the NM border between El Paso and Carlsbad NM.

The videos I've seen are for the older version.
I would like to know how to do it myself.
Post or Send me video link if you could.
Got my Quad6 up and running.
Nice radio and many useful programmable features. The upper bands are dead right now so can't get on the air with anyone yet.
I tested the audio against my other radios with a new $50 desk mic I wired up with an electret element and the audio sounds good. The stock...
The ClearSpeech from West Mountain Radio I think is the better one out there.
They sell a unit which lets you use your own speaker or I think your better off using the DSP amplified speaker. This is a LOUD speaker if you really want both volume and DSP.
These aren't cheap, around $200 but are...
I figured it needs a mod for 15m because I didn't see it in any of our radio YouTube videos, Easy mod though.
Thanks AudioShockwave for posting that.
A bit of a jump around between band letters for the different bands but I would assume moving the cursor with VFO tuning would be sequential...
