11 Meter WORLD WIDE Call signs

Too many "World radio's" and "Needle Benders" out there to where it's comical. Many radio's are capable of talking around the world and nobody is bending anyone's needle. Better to use your official CB call sign for those that have one or just make up numbers for your ID and not copy others.

    Anytone At-6666 Pro

I think best option for now if you want this radio is Scotts Radio in Michigan. Site says you can pre-order and should be July to mid August. https://www.scottsradios.com/product-page/anytone-at-6666-pro

Appears he doesn't have them in stock yet with an August ship date.

    Anytone At-6666 Pro

Good it's just that, stuff it with some foam should deaden the hollow mic compartment sound and fix the other issue. I'm trying my luck wiring a electret desk mic to the radio.

    Anytone At-6666 Pro

Just pre-ordered mine from Scotts Radio too, thanks Shadetree for the tip! I've seen the prototype and it does do 15m, hope the final version does too. That is a factor why I want this radio but it'll still be a keeper if it doesn't. I have a new electret desk mic fron W2ENY that Crawdad posted...

President Lincoln II plus - Digital mode

Are you sure about that? Best I could find is that computer port in the radio is for a programming cable, not CAT control which is needed for digital modes and modern Ham rigs do have. Icom still uses CI-V (and USB too) which does the same. Also that radio doesn't do 15m, it does go below the...

President Lincoln II plus - Digital mode

That sounds like it may work but mods have to be done to the radio. Since the OP hasn't made purchases yet, I would still recommend going the with a real Ham rig. This will be a sure thing without extra mods, cables, and devices to achieve the same goal on top of just being better radio's.

President Lincoln II plus - Digital mode

Not sure how it taps audio out from a mic jack that DOESN'T have RX audio out. One of the mic pins on the Lincoln does have receive but that's usually a ground that switches out receive if the mic is disconnected like Cobra 29s do. As for TX with that radio you'll have to use VOX which that...

Found Tower & Antenna for sale

Much higher if the beam is horizontal compared to a vertical. Remember on a vertical, its the feedpoint height is what counts not the tip of the antenna height. So the feedpoint and overall height of a horizontal antenna can be up at 60ft as opposed to a 18ft vertical which would only be 42ft.

Found Tower & Antenna for sale

Looks like that extra height from the extension pole wouldn’t survive high winds. I wouldn’t feel comfortable where I live with that. Not a bad deal if it isn't rusted. I assume it's local pickup. I would ask if the tower base is in concrete and if the base section is hinged. You may need a...

    Ah the good old days

Here's another retail electronics store people younger than 45 may not know of, Lafayette Electronics otherwise known as "Laughing Idiot". I remember them being more of an electronics parts store than Radio Shack was but they also sold many consumer electronics too. The last one where I live...

    New President Washington Mobile Radio?

Not entirely true... The FT8 mode which has taken over the majority of digital mode operating uses 10 meters and is running right now as I types this. On weekends I do hear some nets on the band and don't forget KC4TVZ acts as the 10 meter beacon. In the FM simplex section of the band, I do...

    VOX features on 11 meter

The new President George had VOX. Maybe some of the other President radio's too. I have a Lincoln 2 that has VOX and used a Samson wireless airline mic and it worked. VOX will work on stock mic but a corded mic defeats the purpose.

    What desk mic to use?

That's a nice mic! I really never looked at that one til now. That would work on the Lincoln radio being it needs 5v to power it. A pricey mic but it's really like you get 2 mics, (condenser and dynamic mic elements) plus EQ and other features but some of those only work on Yaesu radio's...

    What desk mic to use?

That mic has runs off an external 9v battery. The Lincoln supplies 5v on pin 6. That wire on pin 6 needs to be disconnected. Then it should be ok.

    What desk mic to use?

Those Chinese President radios use electret mics so what ever mic you use, be sure NOT to wire up pin 6 which carries 5v current. Ham radio electret mics I know of require 8v so those may not work too good on President radio's. You could use some ingenuity and power an electret Icom SM-30 to a...
