The tower and all of the antennas on it came down during a Hurricane in October 2023. I'm in the process of installing a New tower with a Mosley TA-53M with the 40 meter dipole. M2 6M5X, & a Hi-Gain 14 element 2 meter yagi.
I don't see that DX has been blocked? I have worked Israel, Australia, New Zealand, & many more countries the last couple of days on several different bands so I guess their secret shield has some serious holes in it. The conditions are far from Perfect but I have seen them far worse many times...
I know this is a very OLD topic but it's still relevant Today. I sent an ICOM 756 PRO II back to Kirkland, Washington for repair of a receiver preamp & it was out of warranty by a few weeks. It was repaired for FREE & returned to me. It eventually failed many years later when it burned a hole in...
Just buy the Mineral Oil at the Feed Store & pay far less than if it's listed for Humans. It's the exact same oil but it's a SCAM because most people don't know there is no difference.

I have been using my Alpha Delta 4 position switch for about 15 years on HF/6 meters with a Kilowatt Plus going thru it with ZERO issues. I would buy another one if I ever needed it.
I use the solid type with two inputs & one output with my ICOM 7610 & the ICOM 9100 because they both have Dual Receivers. I run each of them into a ClearSpeech DSP speaker (One for each radio) & it works very well.
I SOLD all of my tuners & am now using Resonant antennas on every band. If I get a little wide on HF or 6 meters & can always use the tuner in the ICOM PW-1 but that's very Rare. The resonant antennas work far better & I will never go back to an antenna that needs a tuner that's not doing...
ZERO activity here on GMRS so I Sold both Kenwood mobiles & Both Radioddity HT's. I'm sticking with Amateur Radio where there is lots of activity. It was a Waste of money for me & I will not renew my GMRS License when it expires.

All of my PERSONAL First Hand Experiences with Ameritron Tech Support have been VERY POSITIVE as I stated above. I upgraded to an ICOM PW-1 so I no longer need any tech support from Ameritron but if I did I would have Zero issues calling ROB HOOD at Ameritron & having him address the issue as I...
It will Always be my Opinion because they Always provided Top Notch Service to me & my friends as well. I could not have asked for Anything else & I'm Not a Big Fan of MFJ as a company but AMERITRON Always did an Amazing job when I needed them. Why would I say otherwise when I'm speaking from...
I disagree with your evaluation of the techs at Ameritron. I have been dealing with Rob Hood at Ameritron for many years & he has always been more than willing to assist over the phone so the amplifier did not require shipping back to Ameritron. Before Mike Enus passed away he was the same way...
I run LMR400 on all bands from HF-440 mhz with Zero Issues. I use the ultra flex even on vertical antennas because I want the flexibility it provides with the stranded center. You can't be too careful. Many forget that you don't want non Ultra Flex on any antenna system that is being rotated...
Hopefully it's much better than the HD1 which was made for DMR. I have owned it for several years & it's far from great. It talks & hears just fine but trying to change memory channels or frequencies can by quiet the trip to the funny farm. My best friend also has one & he Hates it & has stopped...
They make a dipole kit for using dual antennas. It already has everything & all you need are two antennas of the same type or band. Not expensive at all. It makes it far simpler with no guessing. No counterpoise needed.
