    Another 139XLR power supply problem.

Bun no matter how much I adjust RT301 I can not get the voltage on D302 below 23 volts and that is with RT301 all the way one way. And any where else 24V. EDIT EDIT>> I am hoping I caught this in time. I looked at the schematic again RT301 Will adjust base voltage of R302. By my schematic the...

    Another 139XLR power supply problem.

We have hours and hours and hours. Trying to get this working. So with D302 removed I figure I will put my volt meter on cathoid pad of D302 and adjust RT301 and see if the voltage changes. By the way all 3 legs of RT301 have continuity to the catholic which does not seem right? I plug the radio...

JJ, Thank you I am going to make a copy of that and put it in my Sam's. By memory the rectifier diode is wired correct and tomorrow I will will check the board. I only changed a couple wires I even used the correct color codes lol.

I also at one point today removed the variable resistor and cleaned and tested it. I do not want to take TR302 out too many more times if I do not have to. Someone many years ago had it out. I can tell by the age of the part but they pulled a pad and loosened another. I repaired it but want to...

D302 is not the problem. Doing the exact same thing with the 3, 5.6v diodes in Series. But putting out 7 volts this way.

Here is the listing for the diodes I bought. https://www.ebay.com/itm/303312089935?mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&customid=link&campid=5336136228&toolid=20001&mkevt=1 They are from America but the name of the company sure does say china. There is no data sheet.

After dinner I will hook up 3 and just turn the radio on. If the channel display lights up I will know that is the problem. 8 or 9 volts is about enough to just dimly lite the meters. I am hoping that is it. Like I said many times before It worked before I changed the parts out. I can't even try...

    Another 139XLR power supply problem.

Well I usually buy all caps from Mouser. I do not know where this came from. A older friend got out of radio and moved out of town. He gave me a lot of his supply so possibly one of his but it tested stronger than the Rubicon I replaced it with. Is there something I may have here I can test in...

Guitar that is something I was wondering this morning. It is a new cap but I do not know where it came from. I think I will change it and post back in a few.

Lol you are right I could have just pulled the fuse. It was too late when I saw that lol.

    Another 139XLR power supply problem.

First D302 checked good and on a diode tester it gave the same readings. As for data sheet I just bought 10 of these on e bay listed as 16 volt 1 watt diodes. Same results I then unhooked the main power wire off the power supply board. Now I have 10V instead of 9 on the base and emitter of TR41.

I will replace D302 But this will be the second time. So if it still does not work what may be blowing D302? maybe the ones I have are bad but doubt it. Thank You.

    I mean on all components that do not come off TR302 and TR401. TR302 C..25V E..9.62V wrong B.. 18.59V wrong 3V high TR401 E..9.62V wrong C..25V B..9.06V should be 13.8V D302 C..19.32V A...006V D301 C..6.048V A...005V should be 6.1V In circuit shows continuity out tests good. Same voltage on...

    Another 139XLR power supply problem.

To T To satisfie curiosity I removed TR302 the TIP and put in a 2SC1419. I saw one volt less coming out of TR401. Rechecked every other voltage and part. All correct but what I am seeing coming out of TR401. I am thinking (HOPING) that TR401 is bad and giving me a false reading. I really am...

    Another 139XLR power supply problem.

I happen to have no more 6.1V 1 W diodes. I do have 7.5V and 5.6V diodes. Also there are loads of 1N4735 6.2V 1 watt diodes out on the market. Will either of the ones I have work? EDIT:: Looking back the diode I used in D301 was a 6.2V 1 W not a 6.1V. The 6.1V diodes are pretty impossible to get.

    Another 139XLR power supply problem.

I replaced D302 yesterday. For some reason unknown to me when I checked voltage on the collector of TR302 there was a spark and after checking D302 had went open. I unhooked TR401 again and tested that and TR302 both are good. Hopefully I have another replacement for D301 and will replace that...
