I turned on the radio about a hour ago and the DX is rocking and rolling and of coarse it has to be on the weekend. But have spent most of the day prepping for the snow circus that starts after midnight. Got all my removal equipment ready and waiting. Now it's time to feed the face. Good luck...
I totally agree with this post. Harbor Freight is defiantly a Home Owner store and if it weren't for them I wouldn't have got as much done at my place and figured if I found I used the tool a lot I could replace it with a better quality if it broke. If your the kind of guy who thinks you have...
I don't wish bad luck on anybody but your making me feel better. It's only suppose to go down to 2 degrees F tonight with a high of 12 degrees F tomorrow. I have 2 coal stoves burning so I'll hibernate in the house tomorrow.
Worse case scenario it looks like it could end up 2 foot of snow between Sunday & Monday so it means 2 runs with the snowblower. People in Buffalo NY would laugh at that. Them people have to be a little Crazy to live there.
Don't feel alone, we're gunna be treated also. I got gas for the snow blower & quad today & tomorrow I better top off the generator. It's bad enough dealing with large amounts of snow but dealing with freezing rain is enough to make you Swear. And yes I'm not bashful about that ! LOL
I did manage to reach out and touch base with Mississippi today for the first time ever with my McKinley an KL-203 P in my Expedition. That state for some reason isn't a big player for me around here. Of coarse I did Florida also but Florida & Texas seem to big hitters around here. It was nice...
No I have the Lincoln II+ but not sure which version of it I have. I think there was at least 3 versions if not 4. They must of had a lot of complaints on them to stop making them. And then along comes the Washington Mobile which I hear good things about but I still have a bad taste in my head...
I'm glad your having some success with your Lincoln II+ but if you ever find the service manual specifically for that radio please post it. I'd still like to know what all is in that Engineering menu and how to navigate it but I'm too chicken to go exploring because I'd probably screw something...
And I thought I should explain my choice of the McKinley is because of it's physical size and weight. Most of my installs most would consider unorthodox because of modern vehicle construction with too much plastics and no solid place to mount a radio I do a floor pedestal so the radio rests...
The thing is the West Mountain Radio processor works on Every radio so it can make a good radio even better. And Lord knows I have enough radios to try it on ! LOL The second one is for my enclosed trailer when and if I get it ready to be a travel trailer. I have a old buddy out in Idaho I'd...
Yesterday it seem to be noisy but I would want to run it a few more times to give it the final verdict. But I have 2 each of this unit which can be run with your mobile or base and they are wonderful for cleaning up noise. They are pricey but worth it if you hate noise and work with any radio...
Yeah I forget not all areas are dead on AM like around here. I felt lucky today to get 1 radio check today on 19 AM to make sure my radio was working. Some times you can't get any locals to answer to save your butt.
Decided to make a country run North of me this morning so I put the K40 on the roof of my Expedition and installed my McKinley with my KL-200 P. Conditions weren't that good in the beginning but on the way home they seem to pick up a little. I managed to make a contact with 307 in Wyoming so it...
Just got back from a run with my Cobalt & Q6 Pro and made another Texas contact and Netherlands but seems to me in the mobile environment I use to do better with other radios teamed up with my KL-203 P. Might be time to experiment some more. The never ending Saga ! LOL
I feel your pain ! I bought 2 President radios a McKinley & the Lincoln II+ NEW and got burnt on both. I spent Time and money on both to make them usable so needless to say it's Goodbye President Radio for me. I often wondered about that Washington radio but my inner mind tells me NO NO NO ...
Nice set up ! The solar site said conditions were poor for yesterday and my PITA neighbor was home so I kept busy doing unfinished projects but late in the day and early evening I turned the radios on and conditions didn't sound poor. I tried several radios I haven't used in awhile to compare...
No your not missing anything I found in there but I wasn't real adventurous in that site and I didn't even want to try the download. My Lincoln II+ is good enough to use so I won't invest anymore time and money in it, but it isn't anything to brag about. They didn't make that radio too long so...
