Glad to see someone else bought a KL 200 because the KL 203 seems to get all the mention. My 980 and KL 200 P was the first combo that got me talking some skip because they claimed the KL could handle the 980 because it put out less than 4 watts. That was many radios ago. ! LOL

I'm surprised you gave that 980 a chance. I figured you for a different radio. Mine still works OK but I was never thrilled with visibility in the mobile enviroment.

I've been using a West Mountain Radio Processor that I'm happy with for noise reduction but they aren't cheap. But then again nothing about this hobby is Cheap ! LOL

Sorry Hawkeye no I can't recommend but I was considering Shottky one time to improve my receive on my DX2547 and picked up the Germanium info in another forum but never got around to modifying the radio. You probably should ask Nomadradio or others into Modding and repair. Best of luck to you...

I have to laugh the solar site said 10-12 meter was suppose to be poor today but it is almost 9:00 PM & I can hear my Lincoln II+ upstairs barking out some good sounding DX which is unusual for this time of night. I guess I'll just keep Rolling with the Flow !

After dear hunting today when I got home I turned my base station on to 16 lsb for the heck of it and for the first time I did hear some activity even though it sounded distant. But was happy to at least hear something for a change. I'll keep trying when I can !
