    5555n - Push Buttons - lighting

Posting before & after pics in low light conditions with anytone 5555n. Not perfect but pretty decent considering no need to take appart front panel and easily removed if ever needed Total cost of this low tech lighting solution was probably $10.

    Low pass filters

Some good points Brandon. Since i have moved to my present location and knowing hes basically around the corner i have done very little TX'ing not wanting to piss him off even using a stock cb 4/12w setup. I guess at the end of the day its compromise and respect. Thx for your input.

    Low pass filters

Thanks for the info Brandon. I ask this question as i have a amateur neighbour less then a mile away from me and was thinking it would be good to keep my 27mhz activity out of his shack if possible. Yes a bandpass filter is i think more what i was aiming at. Thx and 73's

    Low pass filters

Hi, is there a low pass filter made that keeps transmissions at 27/28 mhz or is something like that not possible? I think most i have seen are wide keeping things below 30mhz. Reason i ask is that i have watched a few vids by Scotts where he is using low pass filters when using rm italy or...

    5555n - Push Buttons - lighting

Ya not bad considering no need to mess with taking apart the faceplate/ panel. Will now think about powering it maybe going with a voltage reg as suggested if i can find an easy to tap switched 12v source. Thx for the comments guys.

    5555n - Push Buttons - lighting

I realize the butron lighting is not perfectly or evenly distributed but thinking i can live with it and way better then nothing. Plus the low tech solution is a piece of cake. My next step is to eliminate the 3 x 1.5v aaa batteries that currently power the small cob led strip. Thinking of...

    5555n - Push Buttons - lighting

On a side note, one would think that with all that Qixiang puts out there, having illuminated buttons isnt really a huge stretch to add on all their newer and future radios. Lots of users like to operate with low light so only makes sense.

    5555n - Push Buttons - lighting

    5555n - Push Buttons - lighting

Some pics of the 5555n inside. Lots of room but the front display area where i was hoping would be somewhat accessible isnt. I suppose i could pull it all apart to see whats in behind the buttons but not sure i will. I will have to think about it and see if its worth the effort.

    5555n - Push Buttons - lighting

Yep. Agreed. I picked that up locally for a few bucks so figured i could drop the intensity if needed. Will pop open the radio tomorrow and check things out closer. 3mm leds is something im looking at / mounting options as well.

    5555n - Push Buttons - lighting

Sure Dr. Apparently its been done already but no real info. It really should have been done at the factory considering how little it really would have cost.

    RCI-2980 frequency counter issue?

Hello Cable Guy. I have the same radio and also plan to transplant in a new power supply maybe as a winter project before the stock one packs it in. The counter module used is the same as in many other radios using that same main board. I assume you already checked all connections to and from...

Uniden Madison - channel selector noise

Without the stock mic plugged in all quiet spinning the dial. Plug the mic in to receive audio and the annoying thud is back changing channels. Wondering if its some ground loop problem?? Thx for any info :) . Enjoy the weekend
