    Wawasee JB-2000 issues

Also I may add that mine does not have the 10 watt 2 ohm resistor off of the 3 amp fuse holder to the HV capacitors either but think I will install one. Also, what is this 25 watt resistor I have circled, don't believe I have seen that in there ?

    Wawasee JB-2000 issues

Hi all, I recently got ahold of this old JB 2000 and I am attempting to get er going and am having issues with it. Things I have replaced on it so far are HV caps, 3-500z tube sockets, and all the rectifier diodes. When I replaced the diodes all 4 on the side my finger is pointed at were all...

Texas star 667v " bias issues"

I blew out the amp and looked for any other solder particles, everything looked good so I applied power to the unit and no magic smoke this time lol, I manually keyed it and checked voltage at all bases and had around .644 vdc so I am assuming this is good enough? Will keep close eyes on that...

Looking better now, and yeah that was a loose piece of solder splatter and I will be looking over the rest of it more closely, thanks guys

What's your recommendation before I apply power back to this baby Elderado ? I am going to zero out my meter tonight and come back with the results, it may be ok this time hopefully

Texas star 667v " bias issues"

However, this is about the measurement I had before on power up and the unit went up in smoke,,,,, so with that being said if the 2290 driver was bad and shorted or the 6.8 ohm resistor on it was faulty would that have taken out the 2 pills on the front board ???? I would of thought if the 6.8...

I put the correct resistors back in the unit and am getting 2 ohms on all bases, subtract the 000.6 and I guess I am there where I need to be

Texas star 667v " bias issues"

If something was up with the driver pill and or the 6.8 resistor on it would that cause the damage to the 2 pills on the front board probably?

Texas star 667v " bias issues"

I also got .0006 with probes together so subtract that and it would be 2.7 I guess

I got same reading with 2 different meters, time to buy a Fluke I think, dunno

Texas star 667v " bias issues"

I had purchased it used, 3 of the Toshiba 2879 tested bad after I removed them. I also believe the 2290 driver was also bad however I didn't remove it at the time due to the pain in the butt it is, now I wish I had from the beginning because maybe that's why it went up in smoke perhaps. I never...

Texas star 667v " bias issues"

I am going to put the resistors back in the unit like I had it before and test again, I should be subtracting the 000.6 ohm from my readings then or grab my other meter and check again probably

Texas star 667v " bias issues"

Pics per request and yes my multimeter read up to 000.8 ohm with the prongs together and I know the resistors are not to be doubled up like they are, I am just testing this to see if I could get better readings. It didn't test as bad today as I thought it did before but I bet it will go back...
