Another option is getting these from Stef, he's specialized in Ham International (aka cybernet) parts.

That's where I get my cybernet VCO's.
It was 9K2ES, yes around that frequency, but about 3 weeks ago. I thought it was pretty cool that he could hear me reasonably well (with some QSB) while I was only using 5 Watt. Most people down there seem to be using 1KW or more.
Last night around midnight CET I heard him on 40 meters, didn't...
Pretty much. I laugh about that with my wife and call it "can you hear me now?" calls.
Although I do admit that I will partake if it is a country I've never reached, like Japan last week on 50 Watts, that was a first.
Or.. when I'm QRP and able to contact Kuwait or the US.
But yes.. just...
This user is clearly not very active on here, you might be better off sending him an email via the address that the has on his QRZ page. If you don't have a QRZ account then I can PM you his email address so you can try to contact him there.
A while ago I got some $20 cleqee P2200 probes from AliExpress, they seemed ok-ish. Using the word "seemed" as I've only used them a few times on my old boat anchor Philips PM3260E. The reason I only used them a few times was because usually when I needed to use the scope, .. it wouldn't turn on...
The "Screwdriver's guide" from Franklin has a whole section discussing this.
In principle it's a myth, but there's some specific cases (IIRC when the coax is intended to be part of the antenna system) when it does matter.
I hear you.
While I'm fairly OK with soldering, replacing a 28 pin SMD chip requires experience in SMD soldering. If you never did that before, then I recommend to not try that as your first SMD experiment. There's too many pitfalls.
That's why I looked around for somebody experienced in the...
Yes, these radios are actually really nice.
One more note. In my case I only had one of these chips replaced and not the modification done. If you do opt for the zener mod, then beware that this apparently will negatively influence receiver sensitivity on 70cm.
Maybe I'll add the zener mod...
Yes, this is a known issue with the TYT TH9800.
I bought one on the cheap with this issue. It worked well, except no audio output on the 2m/70cm. As I didn't have my license at the time, it wasn't a big issue.
But.. things changed and I needed it to work. So I researched this.
There's two audio...
Thank you, exactly what I was wondering when I read that.

I don't think the relevant part of that thread is that the guy's a kitchen tech (whatever that is), but the IC that he replaced to resolve his 25.5333 display issue.
The AnyTone does not work with EU or RU settings. That's just not how this is done.
You can change the channel spacing in the settings. You can also program the channels using a computer if you need the frequencies to be different for your channels.

Put the model number in youtube and you should be able to find a few posts on how to modify it. If not, I can link it here. I had this model on my list of looking into it.
Old school.
For the CB band, I prefer to use the CB radio that my mom bought for me, a skyline SM 2010. With 22 Channels FM and 0.5 watt using a cybernet board (pbtm117aox). It was broken badly by some idiot teenager about 40 years ago.
That idiot was me.
About a year ago I repaired it, then...
