Recently a friend of mine gave me one of these $25 dual band radios. Haven't really messed with it much. I saw a secret menu people were unlocking. Mine will not do it and I noticed mine doesn't look exactly like any of the one I saw. So I am assuming that function was taken away?
While digging through boxes of old radios looking for parts, I ran across this one. I Don't know where it came from. Powers up but no transmit or receive. Thoughts???
Over the past year and a half I have had to move out and move back in to my radio room. Somehow I misplaced the power cord to my meter. Does anyone know what voltage? Thanks in advance.
Before I left for work this morning I decide to take a quick glance at the trace side.
The orange wire goes to spkr2 @ ext. Spkr jack.
The red wire goes to PA2 at the PA jack.
I am in no way a technician, but should those to be bridged like that?
I purchased three of those a few years ago one of them came out of the box doing 25 watts max. Replaced transistors with 520's a friend gave me.just to see how it responded. after that it would do over 100 watts only problem was SWR'S were through the roof. Was thinking about trying them on an...
C193 which should be 2.2uf is reading 93pf. TR-50 a1869 seems to check out ok along with TR-51. TR-52 is reading as N channel JFET. So pretty sure that is toasted. C190 100uf reading at 79uf.
Recently acquired this radio. Worked for a very short time then I went to power it up one day and had nothing. I did find some burnt components. TR52 R243 C193 to name a few. Can someone point me in the right direction to figure out what caused this. Thanks
