Hi guys, anyone know off hand if the channel readout and ribbon cable are the same or swappable between the 139xlr and a 89xlr 40 channel am base ? Tia 73
I had heard of someone doing this with an anytone quad 5n or n2 but hadnt seen any pics. Kinda cool imo and maybe will inspire the anytone factory to put out a base version of their own ? .. hoping anyways!
A question for the guys with og 6666. When my radio is sitting running listening only, the radio is cool to the touch all over except for the front left side of radio. Is that from a voltage regulator disapating heat? Thx!
Something to add, ive noticed when my og 6666 is in the house on a power supply the channel skipping with the encoder is not bad at all. Something apparently when in warmer temps makes it a skipper. 73
good times. :).otherwise she works well on ssb which is key for me. Having the am right would be nice. Pretty sure i need to lift the board(s) out to see what they comandeered under with the wiring to the filter. A botched job regardless. Will do my best :)
I have a 430 that am mode seems to be pooched. Upon top cover removal i find a taped up mess and what appears to be an incorrect am filter sitting in the spot where the am filter would be soldered in. Looks like this thing was spliced in to a small coax type wire. Thinking of trying to remove it...
Does anyone know when the pro will be sold with the new firmware already loaded ? Its looking like a few months here before i will be ordering mine so just curious. Thx!
Hello, i am curious if anyone has had any issues with these now considered old kenwood power supplies. I had read that these models dont have over voltage protection / crowbar circuits and have in some cases cooked the radios connected if / when they fail. Also wondering if doing some...
also, i think its a real shame that a reset on the radio via the menu does not retore the previously set "service menu" settings. I guess the service menu is for engineers :)
Id probably shelf elf it for now. Over the next while the default service menu settings will get posted and you will be able to at least put it back somewhat close to what the factory had. From what i have read on this, guys that access this internal menu record all the original factory set...
